Thoughts on starters now that their evolutions have been out for a while? & Rank them!

Much like other, my opinion has changed a lot with this pokemon... well, as much as it can.

1) Sprigatito line - I have grown to love the designs of these pokemon a lot more than the past. I didn't like the designs as first, but as I've seen it over and over in the game, it has become one of my favorites.

2) Fuecoco line - At first this was my favorite line, but as I used it, the more I began to dislike it. The ghost type doesn't make sense and we just had a Fire/Ghost. The fire chicken on its nose is apparently a completely different entity which has made me dislike it more and it is the only reason it is a ghost type. It could have been Fairy, Psychic, something other than ghost.

3) Quaxly line - I still don't like this line. While the fighting type it has helps it a bit, it still reminds me of a Pave from animal crossing fused with Miror B from Pokemon Colosseum. Both characters I don't like because I found them very annoying.

Mine would be, design wise, sprigatito's line, then fuecoco's line and lastly quaxly's line. Combat wise, though, it would be Meowscarada, Quaquaval and then Skeledirge. I like to hit fast and hard, and Skeledirge misses the fast part, although with the amoung of physical mons I got in my main team at the end of the game, Skeledirge, ironically, would had been a better mon for my team, being a special attacker.

3. Quaxly line
Quaxly goes on a downward spiral for me design-wise. I like Quaxly, but Quaxwell honest to god puts the "mid" in middle-stage, and Quaquaval is...uh, something. It's like if a gacha game character designer was in charge of this thing. It's strangely not very Spanish, but that'd be fine on its own if there wasn't a certain starter this generation with more Mexican than Spanish influence (hopefully I'm wrong on this one though). It's also quite strange that Quaquaval and Meowscarada both end up being fast physical attackers; sure, they're vastly different beyond that, but there's a strange amount of overlap between these two.

Actually, Quaquaval is a reference to the carnaval, the Canarias Islands' Carnaval to be precise. Quite spanish. It's the starter's final stage's design I like the least, I agree with you, but it is spanish, alright.

About Skeledirge, yeah, it's a mexican design, not a spanish one. Dia de Muertos is not a spanish celebration. Not like that, at the very least, we DO celebrate the "Dia de todos los Santos" (Day of all Saints), in the same day, but the skeleton imagery and all that is from the mexican Dia de Muertos.

And a missed oportunity for Gamefreak to call Meowscarada Miauscarada. It would had been more spanish, as Miau is our Meow.
