I've seen this done on many other non-vBulletin forums (and have implemented it myself at one point), and think that it shows important information that can tell you how much of a discussion-starter someone is. It can also be a boost in motivation for certain people to initiate threads. And knowing Audy, it shouldn't be too difficult to implement. :P

I think this is an interesting idea.

One thing to consider though is that threads you create are included in your post count, so I'd assume we would subtract the number of threads someone has made from their post count.

I like it, definitely something that could be included in PC 2.0. And like you said, Ausaudriel being the wiz he is at coding could definitely figure something out for sure. (If this gets approved, xD)

If you guys decide to add this feature can you make it show deleted VM's? I went on a bit of a deleting spree a while back which I now regret.

I think that threads are inclusive to posts, no? That's how they are when you view a user's recent threads and recent posts in their profile. Also, starting a thread doubles as making a post, so that wouldn't make very much sense.

I might just be pedaling backwards as an oldie here, but the postbit can be pretty crammed as it is with all features enabled there. But I guess, since it actually is easy to customize what you want to see there, it wouldn't hurt to implement it as yet another option. You do know you can find threads created by a user easily by clicking their username in a post and choose "Find all threads started by (user)" right? Unless you've started more than 500, the number should show there. It's probably a question of how interesting it really is to quickly know how many threads a person has created. Personally, I think you can be just as awesome if you never start threads, but make great replies in existing ones. But like I said, I also don't see how showing thread count could hurt so if many people want it and it's possible to make, alright :)

Show deleted VMs... in the... postbit? If you mean deleted posts, then no, deleted posts don't count anymore. And VMs don't count towards your post count.

Nah. The postbit should contain information immediately relevant telling you who the person is and how active they are. I think it's too cluttered already to be worthwhile adding in thread count when all you have to do is click on their username and pick "Find all threads started by blah". I don't really feel it holds enough relevance to be a worthwhile immediate statistic.
