Because of Pikachu's mascot status, we're never going to get a Mega Raichu, which is strange for GF, because they saved Charizard from being one of the worst Pokemon in the metagame by giving him two Mega Evolutions yet can't save their own mascot by given its less popular evolved form a Mega Evolution itself.
