Thunder thighs

I think it's a compliment. Don't know why the rest of the world sees it as an insult. I mean, thunder has been personified as a god by most civilizations, so the meaning is akin to possessing godly or badass thighs. Maybe that's because I'm partial to thicker legs but whatever.

Most people consider it an insult because when it's used directly at somebody, it's never usually said in a positive tone. I've heard a few people insult others with this phrase during high school, and it would often really sting the other person when said.

Personally I think it's a horrible insult, as my sister has had to deal with that from various neanderthals during her time at school growing up.

if thunder thighs is an insult i completely own that insult! being a female and having "thunder thighs" well bam come at me :P i used to do alot of soccer and dancing when i was a kid and teen so my thighs are muscular and amazing *.* i probably will never have a "thigh gap" but my thunder thighs get the job done XD be in hiking up and down the stairs because there is work to be done as hauling things or just me randomly running around i know my legs got the muscle to keep me going.

The only time I've heard this phrase was to describe Usain Bolt after he beat the world record.

It seems like something heterosexual women would say to other heterosexual women, like how some men apparently feel the need to discuss the size of their genitalia only among other men. Maybe it all comes from some vestigial simian mating heirarchy establishment thing.
