Can someone tell me if I messed up the clock by playing with it?

I took my first ride to Kanto, beat all the trainers on board and got off. I then saved, changed the date and went back on to get more exp. It worked. I did the same thing once I arrived in Johto. This time, however, once I got back on ship, all the trainers were defeated and wouldn't battle. I tried setting the date to the following week and it still didn't work. I then put the date back. This was almost a week ago and they still don't wanna battle when I take a ride. This is such a great, consistent source of exp for where I am in the game. I really don't want it to stay like this. Can anyone offer some advice?

Also, what other kind of things are effected by time this way? I'm looking forward to being able to fight my Rival at Victory Road when I beat him next, but does changing the clock affect his arrival?

Also, on my ride back from Kanto to Johto, I cleared all of the trainers and went to see the captain. He is supposedly the source for the plates, but all he had to say to me was a comment about the waves or something. What am I doing wrong here?

what you did wrong should be obvious, but ill say it anyways

you ****ed with time, now its ****ing back

you shouldnt have done that, you probably ****ed your game up& you deserve it for trying to cheat the system.

instead of cheating how bout you do it the RIGHT way,and wait.

Actually, the trainers on the ship will never give you rematches. That's one of the changes from G/S/C to HG/SS.

Most if not all clock/date events will be disabled for the day if you try to play around with them for abuse. Changing the clock does not affect the Rival's storyline matches, but the optional rematches on Monday and Wednesday will be disabled if you try to play around with the clock to make it Monday/Wednesday.

Him not giving you plates is likely the result of your playing around with the clock. Wait until the next ride without playing around with the clock and it should work again.

Oh man, so I can't rematch the S.S. Aqua trainers either way? That's lame! It seems every game has a building or boat that gives you a certain amount of trainers each day and refreshes the next day... I really don't like that change!

As for the plates, I didn't mess with the clock on my first trip from Kanto to Johto and he still didn't give me one. Either way, I'll try again next time.

    Thanks for your help!
