Seriously, why is it so tiny! :P

I am new to the forums, obviously, I stopped playing Pokémon after Stadium came out for the N64. Highschool, relationships, work and the rest of life got in the way of my free time. Well 13 years later I am able to finally manage my life and enjoy some more Pokémon action! I never did catch them all :(

So, yeah I am pretty out of the loop with all of these "generations" and new games, etc. I was thinking of starting with Black or White and then working my way back to some of the popular titles. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hey, PokePandemic!

Wow, 13 years is quite a while! You've missed a lot!
No worries, though! You have time now.
And I would actually suggest playing 1 game from each generation in order. That way you can see how much the series has developed. But you're free to play in whatever order you want. :)

    GEN I
    -Red, Blue, Yellow
    GEN II
    -Gold, Silver, Crystal
    GEN III
    -Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald
    GEN IV
    -Diamond, Pearl, Platinum
    GEN V
    -Black, White

Feel free to VM me if you wanna chat.
    Anyways, have fun!

    Hey there welcome to PC!
Judging by your signature, you seem to getting yourself acquainted with the new Pokemon.

Black and White is a good start for returning Pokemon fans. The only Pokemon available before beating the Elite Four are Unova Pokemon (or gen V Pokemon) so it feels like a whole new game like Red and Blue were.

And then all the games 8bit mentioned above. Personally my favorite is Pokemon Emerald.

I also recommend the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. They're probably my favorite Pokemon spin-off games cause they're completely fun and different than the others. There's a new spin-off called Pokemon Conquest coming to America in 4 days! It's basically a combination of Pokemon and a strategy based RPG called Nobunaga's Ambition, and it looks freaking awesome. I'm definitely gonna buy it.
Also be on the look out for the sequels to Black and White, Black 2 and White 2.

If you like battling like games, Pokemon Colosseum and XD:Gale of Darkness are similar to Stadium but in a RPG like style with big storylines.
And there's Battle Revolution for Wii which is just like Stadium for Gen 4.

That's all I can recommend. Hope you enjoy yourself here and have fun posting.

    Hi PokePandemic.

Geez, 13 years away from Pokemon? You need to do some serious catching up.

I am Hikari and I've been playing main series Pokemon games since 2003. I have also been watching most of the anime since it first landed on Australian shores.

As AWsquared said, you should get Black or White. They have that feeling of a new experience, plus with Black 2 and White 2 on the way now is a good time to play them!

You can check out the Pokemon Gaming areas, also with its own sections where you can trade and battle!

You better start playing right now and hopefully, catch 'em all.

If you have questions, contact any staff members. They aren't too difficult to spot.
