Pokedex Entries
Sun: Toxapex crawls along the ocean floor on its 12 legs. It leaves a trail of Corsola bits scattered in its wake.
Moon: Those attacked by Toxapex's poison will suffer intense pain for three days and three nights. Post-recovery, there will be some aftereffects.
Ultra Sun: To attack, this Pokémon sends toxic spikes flying at its enemies. Ones that come close get mown down by the claws on its feet.
Ultra Moon: With its 12 legs, it creates a dome to shelter within. The flow of the tides doesn't affect Toxapex in there, so it's very comfortable.

Meet Toxapex. One of the more elusive Pokemon to find in Alola, this poisonous starfish can really pack a punch, and the spikes on its body are enough warning. While not weighing much and remaining pretty small, its poison can cause some serious effects, including prolonged intense pain. Compared to Mareanie, which has ten tentacles, Toxapex has twelve, and it uses those to great effect in being able to shelter itself within a dome, which is created when Toxapex closes its tentacles. Toxapex is especially known for preying on Corsola, which has inspired some citizens of Alola to care for them so they are not affected by Mareanie and Toxapex. This is especially evident in Aether Paradise.

Toxapex's mark in competitive battling, however, cannot be understated. With its gargantuan defensive stats and a useful ability in Regenerator, this Pokemon can serve as a really good wall that is also immune to being worn down by Toxic. As well as using the aforementioned move, Toxapex can threaten foes with burns from Scald or attempt to deter foes from setting up by using Haze. Baneful Bunker is an interesting move, as it acts as Protect with the chance that any Pokemon who tries to use a contact attack will be poisoned. Toxapex is the only Pokemon that can learn this move.

So there you have it. Looks quite the defensive behemoth, huh? What are your thoughts on it? Have you used it to great effect? There's plenty of discussion to be had...
