is it possible to trade pokemon from games like b&w/b&w2 and diamond/pearl/soulsilver etc and if so how

Pokemon Bank that is being released tomorrow. Download it and install.
For the Game Boy and Game Boy Advanced games, you'd have to transfer those to a DS game first, and then to the bank.

it's actually Dec 27, and even then you can only transfer pokemon that are from Black and White or Black 2 and White 2. (previous generation pokemon CAN be transferred, just not from the games they're in. First they need to be sent to one of the Black or White versions AND THEN sent to Pokebank)
