    Hi,

I have a Nintendo DS Lite and am wondering how I would still be able to trade pokes on Pokemon Sapphire and FireRed. From my understanding you'd need a GBA Cable Link to trade, but the DS doesn't have a port for it?

I have used Wireless before on my DS, but that was only for DS games. How does wireless work with GBA Games? Do you need to configure it? If so, where?

You can't trade Sapphire -> Firered, because Sapphire shoesn't have the union Room...

It has to go... Sapphire -> Emerald -> Firered

I also read this from GAMEFAQS

Q: Can I use the Nintendo DS to trade? I heard it has wireless.
A: Unfortunately, no. The Nintendo DS is not compatible with Game Boy Advance
multiplayer modes, even if it is wireless.

So Sapphire can only trade to Emerald and Diamond/Pearl?

My original question was how to configure wirelessly trading on the DS. Is it even possible? Or would I need a Game Boy SP and a Link to trade

You cannot use the DS for trading between GBA games. For example you cannot trade between Fire Red and Emerald even though they both support wireless trading.

how would you trade sapphire pokes to diamond then?

how would you trade GBA pokemon games ? with an SP?

you don't acctually trade with D/P... you extract them.

once you get the nationaldex in D/P, you go to PalPArk. But before you got to PP, you need to go to the main menu and select "Migraate from (GAME)". then choose the six Pokemon you want for that day.

They will then be in palpark where you must re-find them, and caych them. the park balls have a 100% capture rate, so don't worry.

HOWEVER, the Pokemon that where Migrated will be gone from the origional game. SO BE CAREFUL

I see. I will be able to do that soon I guess.

I am a little sad, I got into pokemon while I had the DS.

So I guess this means the only way to trade amongst GBA games is if I had a GBA SP and Wired Link with another person with a GBA SP?

Yes. You'll need two GBAs (of whichever sort) and have the correct link cable to connect them for trading from one Pokemon GBA game to another.

The DS's wireless function is unfortunately different to the ones used for Emerald and Fire Red/Leaf Green and won't work.

Mr T says you have that wrong. You can trade between r/s/fr/lg/e Doesnt matter about the union room crazy fool!!!
