Hello! I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem i've been perplexed about for quite some time now.
I recently bought pokemon silver and later on an Advance SP gameshark. Since I'm extremely cheap and/or just don't have the cash, i decided i would get pokemon ruby and cheat with that, then trade the cheated pokemon to silver instead of buying another gameshark (a GB color one) and cheating with that. I'd really love to have a full pokedex and just don't have the time, plus it's fun to cheat the system once in a while :P
I recently found out about different game link styles and the like and it's all very confusing, so here's my question:
I've got a Gameboy Advance SP, pokemon silver and I'll soon have ruby, what game link and gameboy would make my trades compatible, as some links are only color to color, or pocket to color, or advance (regular) to advance (regular); and some don't even support color games, but support color machines (for some odd reason...) - Which mix of link and gameboy would make my silver to ruby trades possible? >.> and i'd also like to be able to trade from silver to red/blue, so make sure to tell me if that cable and gameboy would be able to accompany silver to red/blue as well please.
    Thanks in advance ^_^

A 3rd Gen game cannot trade with 2nd gen in anyway.
That is to say, you cant trade from Ruby to Silver or vice versa.

u can't trade from ruby to silver or vice versa
but u can trade from silver to red/blue/yellow and vice versa
u need for that a color to color cable, don't use the advance to advance one
plus the time capsule should be fixed in silver, which will be fixed after u reach ecruteak city

but u can trade from silver to red/blue/yellow and vice versa

Note: You cant trade 2nd gen Pokemon to R/B/Y simply because it wont register it.

if u mean u can't trade it at all, then that's wrong u CAN
but if u mean u can't trade pokemons from #152 --> #251 then u r correct u can't do that because the did not exist in R/B/Y, also u must remove attacks/moves that did not exist in R/B/Y

..... I meant what its said. 2nd Gen Pokemon (which stands for 152-251) cant be traded back.
