So, I made this team quite a while back and it did decently well... now I want to change it to make use of what Platinum gives them and to counter Platinum threats... (I know I'm VERY late, but I was actually waiting for Platinum to come out in English first...)

One very large threat for this team appears to be any CM/Rest/Sleep Talk variants of Suicune.

Any and all changes will be made in Green.

Graphix the PORYGON-Z @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Download
    Nature: Hasty
    IVs: 1/13/15/3/28/26
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
    -Thunderbolt
    -Ice Beam
    -Tri-Attack
    -Dark Pulse

My lead. This is the basic Special Sweeper set for it as you may know... and for the third time, this pokemon is there to hit stuff... Choice Scarf to make up for its bad Base Speed and max itself above 400, all of the moves get nice coverage...

    VAPOREON @ Leftovers
    Trait: Water Absorb
    Nature: Bold
    IVs: 30/8/12/31/31/30
EVs: 192 HP, 254 Defense, 64 Special Attack
    -Surf
    -Toxic
    -Hidden Power Electric 66
    -Wish

Vaporeon was added to counter the team's only weakness... only testing will tell me if this will be effective... The EV Spread was chenged a bit for Maximum Leftovers recovery (the IV was only 30, so yeah...)

    SWAMPERT @ Leftovers
    Trait: Torrent
    Nature: Brave
    IVs: 30/31/23/31/31/24
EVs: 240 HP, 180 Defense, 90 Special Defense
    -EarthQuake
    -Avalanche
    -Sleep Talk
    -Rest

A Sleep Talk Swampert, used for its possible tanking power and to counter the big Tyranitar weakness this team apparently has... Just spams Sleep Talk while asleep after using Rest and hitting with either of its two attacking moves... It's my best counter to Dragon Pokemon as they Fail to OHKO and die in one shot to a non-boosted Avalanche. That's its job in full...

    Glider the GLISCOR @ Leftovers
    Trait: Hyper Cutter
    Nature: Impish
    IVs: 23/30/24/1/23/31
    EVs: 212 HP, 12 Attack, 70 Defense, 216 Speed
    -Aerial Ace
    -Swords Dance
    -Roost
    -Earthquake

Blazer the INFERNAPE @ Life Orb
    Trait: Blaze
    Nature: Naughty
    IVs: 0/25/16/22/25/26
EVs: 129 Attack, 129 Special Attack, 252 Speed
    -ThunderPunch
    -Close Combat
    -Flamethrower
    -Grass Knot

All-Out Mixed Sweeper Infernape... I couldn't get an Ice Hidden Power that was stronger than 45... so this will have to do... It's there for the hits it will dish out... you may have noticed that it has both ThunderPunch and Grass Knot, that's so ThunderPunch can get a nice hit on the lighter of the water types and most flying types will feel the pain too, obviously that makes Grass Knot's sole purpose for hitting the generic heavier pokemon that don't resist it... Vaporeon is no longer a safe wall against it... Another thing to note is that Infernape never gets to do anything during my matches...

[PokeCommunity.com] Trying to Upgrade to Platinum... (OU RMT)

    TOGEKISS @ Leftovers
    Trait: Serene Grace
    Nature: Modest
    IVs: 28/7/31/29/31/31
EVs: 252 HP, 6 Defense, 252 Special Defense
    -Nasty Plot
    -Air Slash
    -Roost
    -Thunder Wave

Paraflinch FTW!!! The most common set for a Togekiss at the time of creation... Just to catch my opponent off-guard when they think they've figured out my battle plan... It's the only Pokemon that won't be Baton Passed in as it counteracts its moveset and it has decent defenses to begin with... So basically I put up a Nasty Plot and I sweep with Paraflinch...

Two things... Please tell me your Porygon's SAtk IV is not 3...
Also, Togekiss doesn't cope well in Platinum, unless you're passing Wish around. Rotom and Zapdos are very common, now, both of which completely wall it. Actually, with a Mono Attacking set, pretty much anything walls you.

Aside from that, it's a fairly well-structured team.

    It's 3... :embarrass

And about Togekiss, what should I replace it with then? If I can't handle common pokemon, then there's no point of keeping it in... The only viable idea I got from other forums was Choice Specs Lucario...

Specs Lucario could work in place of Togekiss, this set is fairly common.

    Lucario @ Choice Specs
    Modest Nature / Steadfast
    4 Def / 252 Spe / 252 SpA
    - Aura Sphere
    - Vacuum Wave
    - Shadow Ball
    - Hidden Power [Ice]

Rebreed that P-Z. I'm not that much of a perfectionist when it comes to IVs and I wouldn't ever accept 3 Sp.Att on a Special Attacker. Get at least 25 so it's sort of effective. I don't see much outside of that. Are you going for an original Mixape, cause that's not standard, but I suppose it could (maybe) work.

I guess I could try getting that... However, I have 2 questions. What do I aim for if I can't get HP Ice?

Also, how do people manage to use Lucario when it has low defenses and low Speed to boot?

The Porygon-Z was the product of my non-competetiveness at the time, I had used my only Dubious Disc. I have another one now, but I ack a good Ditto, I will try...

And yes, Infernape was an attempt at an original MixApe, mostly ecause I couldn't manage to breed Naive or HP Ice at the time... Do you think a normal MixApe could fit there better?

If you can't get HP Ice on Specs Lucario, use HP Rock as it hits Gyarados too, whilst still hitting Zapdos and Salamence for at least some damage. They have to predict well to hurt switch-ins i guess, after having the power to threaten what the Lucario originally switched in on. xp

    "IVs: 30/8/12/31/31/30" (Vappy IVs.)

Assuming that 12 IS a Def IV, consider rebreeding to take less from Stone Edge or Earthquake from Gyarados etc.

I see... Well, I guess I could put Lucario in there... I'll edit that in later...

I honestly can't rebreed Vappy, so I'll have to deal with the 12...
