I used the five finger approach, though in all honesty I find myself using my pinky finger very few times. I used to type with just my index fingers back in third grade, though by now using just my index fingers is wayy too slow for me. They did a whole typing unit on the computer in third grade anyway (ever heard of Type To Learn? Its annoying but it really does teach you how to type.)

I use three fingers on each hand; for some reason or another I only use my left pinky finger to hold the shift key, and I never use my right one. I don't use my thumbs at all, not even for the space bar.

Yeah, it sounds a little weird, but it's how I've always typed, even with all those horrid touch-typing classes at school. xD

I use three fingers on my left hand and my left thumb for the space bar and I use one finger on my right hand.

I used to hunt and peck very quickly, but ever since I started ROM hacking I've been doing kind of a "free-style" 5 finger approach. I don't keep my hands in the format you're supposed to, and I don't even use the shift key... but it works and I'm a fast typer anyhow, so I really don't care. =D

I use all my thumbs and fingers. Generally, I would use the pinkie finger on stuff like Delete or Shift. :P

I use all my fingers.

Learned in sixth grade from my computer teacher.

I don't know what the five-finger approach is...But I mostly just use my index and middle fingers with my ring finger thrown in on my left hand every now and then. That is five fingers, so maybe that's it XD

I think I use the index and middle fingers of both hands, and my thumb for the spacebar.... Any time I want to hit shift/delete, I'll use my left index finger or my right thumb, depends where on the keyboard my hands are. It works for me, I'm a pretty fast typer. ^_^

Usually the Index finger approach, though I do use my ring fingers and my thumb from time-to-time. In fact, I'm using those now. I don't know what it is about touch-typing (the five finger approach) but I have the hardest time with it.

Oh! Just used my pinky, too. XD

I touch type, but I don't use all of the digits on my hands... Perhaps I'm just odd. XD

I took a course in computers, so...I'm kinda more into using the 5 finger thing.
But I'm eventually gonna resort to my own style.
Sometimes I'll move away from the home keys. x3

I use the index and middle fingers of my right hand for the keys on the right hand side of the keyboard, and i use the index finger on my left hand for the other half. When i'm using shift (left hand side) I use the ring finger on my left hand, same if I need to use the Fn key or caps lock keys.

I learned the general and fastest way. 4 Fingers, Home Keys, Qwerty format keyboard.

Thumb only for space bar, I'm not sure if it makes it five but oh well.

It's actually the best way to type if you are very busy.

I type with all my fingers and both thumbs.

I also touch type then end up typing virgin for cigarette! :D

Yeah I sometimes get words mixed up. XD;

Ever since the epic fail that was me in middle school typing class, I thought "screw it" and typed my own way, which uses all of my fingers, but home keys and all that other tedious stuff have nothing to do with it. And guess what? I do just fine.
