U-Turn to Intimidator team

This is just an idea that sprung in my head a few minutes ago.

Some of the strongest pokemon in the game can be physical sweepers, but don't really have much without their attack. Intimidate is the easiest way to instantly drop the attack stat to... 66% of its normal power. U-Turn has also been a fun move to use, switching out against the foe unexpectedly and causing damage? That's a good deal. However, let's say the opponent has a Garchomp with Earthquake... That doesn't look too good to your Infernape. U-Turn out of the there (let's just say you're faster) to a Staraptor. Not only do you avoid the Earthquake, but their attack stat is decreased.

The team can't do much to special sweepers, but you know... There's a Blissey in your team to take those hits.

I need your all's criticism; Would a U-Turn team with a couple of Intimidators (Arcanine, Staraptor, Gyarados), with a couple U-Turners (Ambipom, Staraptor), and lastly, maybe 1 or even 2 special sponges, would that make an effective team?

The idea of it seems alright, but it's reliant on speed. Therefore, a really quick pokemon can put it down by chance.

Yes it would make a good team just if your special sweepers faint this battle may last a long time.If blissey faints it is going to be hard.

While in theory it seems okay, I see potential problems. First off, you have to remember that you'll be conquered by physical walls that can take U-turn easily. Like Forry, Steelix, Skarm, the usual bunch. Also, as you mentioned, special sweepers can tear you apart. Sure you'll have blissey, but then an opposing physical sweeper can come in and take a free hit at whatever is coming in. Even with intimidate, it'll probably do a lot coming from CBmence and CBtar that might be lurking.

As the old saying goes, "no bettle plan survives first contact with the enemy"

Cant remember who said it but ya know :)

Anyhoo what im trying to say is that in theory it works but is it worth centering your whole team around this strategy when you're not likely to come up against anything past 3 physical attackers?

i've actually been using a Staraptor-Stantler combination for quite a while now.

the thing about decreasing your opponents stats is that it does it in increments of 1/3 rather 1/2.

Yeah, the idea of it would at first glance seem cool, but in the deep anatomy, it just doesn't quite cut it.

It was just a spontaneous idea, and it just sounded cool. I thank those who gave this idea criticism.

Oh yeah, Samson, here's how stat changers work. Attack, Defense, Sp. atk, Sp. def, and speed are on a 2/2 fraction. Let's say I use Sharpen (just an example.) The fraction changes to 3/2, or 150%. However, let's say I get intimidated. The other number changes instead, making it 2/3, or 66%. The highest possible is 8/2, and lowest is 2/8.

Evasiveness works on a 3/3 scale and works on the opposite end. Double team makes it 3/4, or 75%, and then 2 double teams makes it 3/5, or 60%. Sweet Scent makes it 4/3, 133%, and so on.

Hidden numbers in Pokemon = so complicated, yet people who don't know it can enjoy the game anyway.
