Hm slave: Paras

I'll start on my Yellow with Water.
Planned Team:
Blastoise
Kabutops
Vaporeon
Poliwrath
Lapras
and possibly Gyrados.

A question: In order to finish the 1st gen, do we have to catch Mewtwo? Or only beat the E4?
And, in Yellow, my rival would have a Flareon! Type advantage! I've never battled Rival at Route 22! And won't also this time.

I'm really sorry for the lack of updates.. Hehehe... BUT, basically I have JUST finished Kanto! Details shall come next.

UPDATE:
-Did everything to get to E 4
-Lorelei was easy
-Bruno was easier
-Agatha really gave me run for my money
-I almost lost to Lance, for being careless.
-And then Rival's Alakazam almost owned, but WON!!!!!
-Off to Johto I go.

Team!!! (For the last time in Kanto)
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge
AAAAAAAAAA the lvl 27 Lapras (Named that because I thought I wouldn't use it)
Moveset:
Water Gun
Blizzard
Body Slam

Notes: This one did just about NOTHING. I did kill Lance's Dragonite though.

[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge

Fire Blast
Notes: The best and most versatile Pokémon in my team.

[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge

Moveset:

Surf
Notes: An average guy and my starter. Earthquake came in handy.

[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge
Roll the lvl 38 Omanyte
Moveset:
Water Gun
Withdraw
Horn Attack (Lol @ no horn)
Notes: This guy is only a Omanyte... BUT it did defeat Blaine all by itself.

[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge

Moveset:
Take Down
Double Team
Surf Psychic
Notes: Beat Bruno?

OKAYZ! First update in Johto!-Woke up

There's only one King's Rock in the game, so which do you guys think is better, Politoed or Slowking?

I'd go for Slowking and evolve Poliwag to Poliwrath, because that gives you an added type.

But, you could use the cloning trick to get another King'Rock.

im going to do this i wanted to for a while but i never did but im going to and i would like to challenge with Water Im going to use either red or blue i have to find one then Gold then emerald and (pearl or Diamond im doing another challenge on one of them not sure yet)

Could I use Pikachu and Mankey till I get Squirtle on Yellow? (Don't want to use Gyarados) Brock would be near-impossible with Pikachu. So, could I use Mankey/Butterfree?

And i would like to do Water
RED
GOLD
EMERALD
PEARL

Do i need Permission to start or do i just start lol Let me know

Update

Defeated Blaine using my newly aquired team member; Pterra
Got through the Selvii island subplot
Went back to Viridian city and drowned Giovannis Pokémon.

Now off to the victory road!

Team:

If i first send out ButtFree and use toxic, i can send out this guy and use FeatherDance to make shure they can't hit hard before they go down.

Poison Flying

His (actually her) stats arent really amazing but he (she, i just don't wanna call batman she) is useful because of his PSN immunity

Lv48
Water Flying
- Strength
- Surf
- T-bolt
- Hydro Pump
He's probably my best bet against Loreli, concidering most of her pokéon are weak to T-bolt
To bad he doesn't learn any physical STAB moves in 3rd gen

Psychic is gonna come in handy against Agathas poison team (although they say she's a ghost trainer)

Basicly my raw power source and fysical sweeper.
Although Gyarados' attack stat is higher, he knows mostly special moves.

Hm Slave: Paras

Call me a nerd, or w/e, but i'm going to do this challenge again =D

But what type am i going to take this time? I definetely want a more difficult one this time, with Normal, thing were easy, Normal types have huge movepools to abuse, i mean, just look at Clefable.

Normal:
Fire: Not really many Pokemon to choose from, would probably end in 4 starter solo runs
Water: Theres a lot of Water types out there, and they're pretty powerful, seems like the easiest type, since Water's weaknesses can be covered easily with Ground and Ice.
Electric:
Grass: Pretty much all Grass is Grass/Poison in the earlier generations, so i might do Poison as well
Ice: Obtained pretty late in the game, which would give me problems in gen. 4 since i can't trade there
Fighting: Not really many double types, but a Machop omnipresence
Poison: Heavily relies on double types, since Poison itself isn't the best type. But the double types are mostly pretty powerful ones.
Ground: Some good double types and STAB EQs... seems too powerful
Flying: Pretty much everything is combined with Flying, so theres again a huge variety of pokemon to choose from, which makes Flying a powerful type.
Psychic: Only weak to Bug in Gen 1, which makes them overpowered there. But pretty helpless to Dark types later on... Sounds interesting
Bug: Looks like the real challenge, but for Bug i would have to use honey trees in gen 4...
Rock: Most Rock types have huge Water and/or Grass weaks, this makes things interesting.
Ghost: I'd have to solo the first 2 gens with the Gastly line, later it becomes better.
Dragon: 1 Dragon line in Kanto, 2 in Johto, 4 in Hoenn and 1 in Sinnoh... Definetely lacks diversity.
Dark:
Steel:

So i'll do one of these: Psychic, Bug or Rock.
Psychic's and Rock's most important lines both require trading for the final stage, which is annoying, so Bug is the type of my choice this time.
I'll try to do things slower this time, i don't want to finish each generation within 2 or 3 days again...

Ok people...
I BEAT THE F***ING CHAMPION!!!

This is how it happened:
After training all my pokémon up to Lv54, i decided it was time to give the elite 4 a try.
________________________________________________________________________
Loreli was pretty easy.
SuperKarp took down Dewgong, Cloyster and Slowbre in a few hots using T-bolt.
Jynx was 1H K-O-ed by Pterras Iron tail (100 attack power right in between her boobs)
Superkarp got in one T-bolt on lapras, before dying to ice beam. I then sent out Batman to deal the final blow.
___________________________________________________________________

Bruno was obviously not a big challange either, because is whole team is weak to my flying monsters.
SuperKarp easely took out both his Onix. GeyPid inflicted half damage on Machamp before getting rocks thrown at him. Batman killed machamp with Aerial ace.
Batman i belive took care of the rest of his team the same way.
SuperKarp learned Hyper Beam, after defeating his second onix.
_______________________________________________________________________
Agatha was defeated because of pure luck.
As i predicted, Psychic did some good damage on her poison pokemon, but only thanks to the quick claw activating almost all the time.
Psychic 2 hit K-Oed most of her team, exept haunter, who was 1Hit K-Oed.
________________________________________________________________________
Lance was probably the hardest of them all, even harder than Green.
I cant remember the whole match, but i won only thanks to ButtFree's Toxic combined with GeyPid using Fly to avoid taking damage while stalling his pokémon out.
His Aerodactyl was defeated by my Aerodactyl, Pterra(Who was 4 levels lower than his), using Iron Tail twice.
__________________________________________________________________________
Green was just too easy.
SuperKarp beat Pidgeot with T-Bolt, Rhydon with surf, and Alakazam with Hyper Beam. Pterra beat Arcanine with EQ, Batman beat venusaur with Aerial Ace, and ButtFree + GeyPid beat Gyarados with Toxic + Fly.
__________________________________________________________________________
Spoiler:

Sorry for crappy quality, i only had my cellphone camera available.

Before moving on to Johto, there was one thing i wanted to do:
I went to oak's lab and got the national dex, flew to cerulean city and picked up that hidden rare candy, and used it on batman.
HE FINALLY EVOLVED!!!

NOW I'M MOVING TO HEART GOLD VERSION AND THE JOHTO + KANTO REGIONS!!!

Small update:

I flew to saffron city to try the gym.
I finally got to Sabrina (man, I hate this gym as much as Lt Surge's...)
I totally destroyed her by using HP flying with gyarados, and Hydro pump on Alakazam.
I'm on my way to Cinnabar island.

team:
Gyarados lvl 46
Taunt <-- Replacing with dragon dance.
HP Flying
Strenght
Hydro pump <-- Should I replace this one? he uses HP as main attacking move and since I'm going to teach him dragon dance, he won't be using it much. Any comments? Suggestions on moves to replace it?

Blastoise lvl 45
Toxic
Brick Break
Surf
Substitute

Starmie lvl 45
Surf
Flash
Recover
Psychic

It's going fairly good, only released 1 important pokemon. I expect to be finished anytime soon.

I'd recommend to put Earthquake and Rock Slide over Strength and Hydro Pump. Wait, Gyarados can't learn Rock Slide, so keep Strength or go with Return instead or whatever.

___

Started in Yellow, named self Yellow, named rival Blue (how creative i am). Lost first battle. Did the Oak's Parcel quest. Bought Pokeballs. Caught a Caterpie in Viridian Forest. Grinded to Level 10 on Route 1, which was quite annoying because there are >Lv. 5 Pidgeys in Yellow. Fought my rival again, beat him this time, i got lucky that Spearow didn't decide to use Peck. Beat everyone in Viridian Forest. Beat Brock's underling. Healed. Saved.

Team:
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge

VenonatEvo / Butterfree Lv. 15
- Tackle
- Poison Powder
- Sleep Powder
- Confusion
A Venonat Evo, Butterfree does REALLY look like that, much more than Venomoth

I haven't updated in a while.... havne't got much further, I went through Eterna forest and headed straight to Eterna gym.

I hate Grass-types.

I managed to beat the trainers mostly using Pingu's Peck, but Gardenia was an entirely different story. I tried the old Defence Curl+Rollout technique, but that gave Turtwig enough time to set up Reflect and Sunny Day, meaning Rollout would do minimal damage before missing like it always does, and even if I did manage to take down Turtwig, Cherrim would get an instant speed boost and sweep through my Pokemon with Magical Leaf. After about a dozen resets, I decided that none of my tactics were ever going to work - the only solution was to leave, and go train up a Magikarp.

8 more levels, then Gardenia should get ready for Skulkraken kicking her @rse all the way to Timbuck-frickin-too.

I just started my adventure in the Johto region!

Note that my pokémon's nicknames will only have 5 letters at max, because i'm playing japanese heart gold.

update:
Choose the boy
named myself Gold (what else? XD)
Choose totodile as a starter
did the mr pokémon mission
beat rival
Named rival Silvr (but of course!)
Captured a hoothoot and named it "HootR"
Currently training HootR to lv6

Here's what i'm planning my team to be:
Noctowl (I'm sick of Pidgeot's now)
Crobat(Never got the chance to evolve Batman in LeafGreen)
Red Gyarados (Cuz i never used a red one before)
Scizor
Gliscor
Hm slave: Paras

Tell me what you think and tell me if you think i should change something

I'm not using togepi cuz it's too much work grinding up to 3000 points at the pokéthlon for a shiny stone to evolve him

I'm liking this whole automatic running buissnes so far...

Actually, at least Steel types are usable, via FR. But you could only really use Onix and Scyther (who would be Traded) and Magnaton. At least, the OP said you could.

Dark is where it gets tricky, up before the Elite four, only one pokemon evolves into a Dark type: Eevee. And you need to trade for them to evolve. This one hasn't been aproved, though...

6. Due to the fact that they didn't exist in RBY, Dark and Steel teams will be disallowed.
disallowed, not discouraged from using

I'm at Cerulean now, and just caught me a Venonat.

[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge

VenonatEvo / Butterfree Lv. 23

I'll probably box Butterfree later on, since i got Venonat early in this game, and Venomoth does pretty much the same like Butterfree, just with better stats and typing
.
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge

PizzaFungi / Paras Lv. 20
- Tackle
- Stun Spore
- Leech Life
- /
I'm pretty sure Parasect will be decent as a set up sweeper, since
1 It gets Spore, Slash and Swords Dance
2. you can't attack in the turn you wake up
3. moves like Slash do almost always crit in gen 1 --> 140 Power
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge

Mothra / Venonat Lv. 16
- Tackle
- Disable
- Supersonic
- /

This thing got incredibly much hax when i tried to catch it. first i scratched it with Paras down to low HP, it disabled Stun Spore. Then i switched to butterfree, it uses Supersonic. Sleep Powder gets disabled, Butterfree hits itself in its confusion while trying to use Poison Powder (Venonat had still enough HP to survive 1 or 2 turns of poison) When i can finally hit this thing, with Sleep Powder, which hasn't been disabled any more, it instantly woke up. This continued for some time, but in the end, i finally put it to sleep and caught it. Probably it would have been cleverer to just throw Pokeballs on it, it was on low HP, and since Venonat isn't a legendary, i should have been able to catch it with 1 or 2 Pokeballs...
