OK so I finally got around to continuing my Flying type challenge in Heart Gold after focusing on a Ground type Platinum-only challenge.

I caught a Pidgey and trained it a little bit.
I realized I had a Caterpie, and thought, why not train it? But it's really a pain in the arse to train. Do you guys think I should bother with a Butterfree, or should I just go with some better Flying types in Johto?

Can i cheat to get cranidos at lv 14?

Update for my electric challenge:

Got eevee and evolved it to jolteon. taught it body slam with a tm and grinded till it learned thundershock
Defeated team rocket down at the game corner.
Defeated Erika.
Defeated team at the Pokemon Tower and got the pokeflute.
Gave the guards a water and started on beating team rocket once and for all.

Okay so, I got to play more for my Ghost challenge. I've now discovered that Sableye isn't really useless and is actually good. It has surpassed my expectations till now. Anyway, I just defeated Norman in a battle of Faint Attacks (The Slaking's and Vigoroth kept using Faint Attack, so did I). Here's my team:

Also, it pisses me off that now Pidgeotto knows Roost instead of Mud Slap. Luckily I had enough Potions to keep Pidgey alive while waiting for Roost to run out of PP.

Chapter 1 : My New Beginning !

I wake from my bedroom and go down stairs to find out my MOmmy gots me a Cell Phone ;D
Then I decide to stroll myself down to Prof. Elm's place to get my first Pokeymanz !

Anyway....I got my trusty Cyndaquil ; Whom I named Justin in memory of my Charizard - Justin (:
After my little talk with Elmy-Poo I go out into the Wild to train Justin to Lvl. 10
I do this in EVERY game, I'm not comfortable if I'm not Lvl. 10 by the first Rival battle ;P
At Lvl. 10 I decide to go pay Mr.Pokemon a visit .
Truns out that Prof. Oak is there too !
We chat for a while then he trusts me ; a random kid who he doesn't even know to take a hi-tech piece of equipment and update it for him..So I plan to xD
When I leave, Prof.Elm tells me that a Pokemon has been robbed ! How terrible !! Here comes my first Rical Battle >;D
Hi Totadile is no match for my Lvl. 10 Justin, so the battle is a breeze . But at least I get to Lvl. 11 !
Just 3 tackles takes that little aligator thingy out !
I name my Rival Adam by the way .

Chapter 2: I Sprout & Spread My Wings !

On my way to Violet City, I battle a few N00b Trainers, and I level up twice, so Justin is Lvl. 13 at this point , yay !
I decide to completely burn the Spout Tower before taking on Folkner .
While I'm Ember-ing away at Bellsprouts, Justin evolves in a Quilava !
As soon as I get to the Head-Honcho of the Tower, Is ee Adam harrassing him...GAH I WANNA HIT HIM SO HARD !
By the end of my little trip in the Tower, Justin is Lvl. 16 already .
TIme to get my first Badge !!!
Folkern's Pokemon were a painn -_-
Pidgey - He kept using Mud-Slap which is Super-Effective AND lowers my hitting ratio .
So half the time I didn't even hit him .
I wasted 10 FREAKING EMBERS ON HIM .
FInally, I hit him with an Ember and he gets benched .
Now it's just his Pidgeotto .
First off, I did't even hit him with an Ember, I used 14 of them and NONE of them hit him !
So I had to use Tackle .
It took 2 normal Tackles and a Crital Tackle .
JOY ! -_-
At least I got my Zephre Badge though .
When I leave, I get an egg....

I love flying type!
So, I am gonna do flying, I started on yellow.

I deposited the stupid Pika (useless little rat), when I got Spearow, nicknamed Drill (LV2, found a LV4, but crit Thundershock :'( ) and Caterpie, nicknamed Flutter (LV6 (I <3 Yellow!!!))

I ground them to LV14, only defeating my rival for the 2nd time (My Gyara will whup his Flareon), and defeated Brock

Oh well, so I went to Mt Moon and caught myself a Zubat LV11 Nicknamed Vampyr and got the Magikarp LV5, Nicknamed Massacre. I then commenced on Struggle grinding Massacre. It took me a long time (5 1/2 hours, I think), and a hell load of Potions, and when it fainted, I healed and re-un-PPed myself on a Metapod in da Forest (sometimes I <3 the Infinite AI PP thing), and when they got to LV16 I saved it and turned it off.
