So I bought a used cart of pokemon X and im trying to reset the game. I know how to reset the game (up + X + B). But for some reason, every time I get to the "Is it really OK to delete this saved data?" I press yes and it freezes. And one thing thats weird, when I save the game, the save file doesn't really save because it resets to where the file originally was. If someone can help me, I would really appreciate it!

I'm not entirely sure about this, but you might be able to delete the save data from the 3DS's system settings and so can do it that way. If that's not actually an option or it doesn't work, the only other thing I can think of is that there's probably something wrong with your cartridge and you should exchange it for another copy.

All my 3DS games are digital downloads, so I'm not entirely sure if this will work for you or not, but you can give it a try.

From the home screen, go to System Settings > Data Management > Nintendo 3DS.
From there you'll have the options of Software, Extra Data, Downloadable Content, and Save-Data Backup.
Look through all four of those sections, primarily Software and Extra Data, and see if there's anything for Pokemon X.
If you do find anything for X, delete that data entirely, then relaunch the game.

That's the only idea I have, unless you happen to have custom firmware, in which case you can easily get rid of the save data for any game.

EDIT: As Nah said, it is also possible that the cartridge itself is messed up for whatever reason and you just need to exchange it for a different, working cartridge. Hopefully that isn't the case though.
