using advance map, every time i attempt to save a new map that i created (file -> map -> save map as -> save)

    it gives me

" ERROR: (EInOutError) Invalid filename "

and won't allow it to be saved

(is it's name in the wrong format? " startmountain ")
(is the save path wrong? "C:\DOCUME~1\THESHO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EX94.352\AdvanceMap 1.95\Maps\startmountain.map")

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you want to put a map in your game
If so, the way to do it would be to create a map:

    Fill the all the blanks:

After making your map, insert it:

And either replace a map, or create a new space:

THANKYOU (i can't capitalize, underline, or bold that enough.)

also, is there any way to delete maps after they're added, or delete the vanilla maps?

EDIT: After trying it insert it (create new space) it kept saying that it found offsets, repointed them, and instead of making a new space for its self, just replaced the second map in the littleroot town file.
how do you make an entirely new space, or file?
    (with pictures again please)

In that tutorial you can find a section on how to delete maps (aswell as many other useful things)
Onto your next problem, I'm afraid I cant help you, perhaps you're doing something wrong, the picture I posted does not have the fields filled
When I insert a map, if I wanna Replace for say, Cerulean City, Here's how I would fill the fields
Cerulean city is the map 3 on bank 3
    Spoiler:

If I'm inserting without replacing, here's what I would do:
    Spoiler:

In both cases, I just click where the arrow is pointing and I'm good to go, no offsets or free space
If you still get the problem I apologise, but I can no longer help you
