    I was wondering why it looked like PC had a name change... XD; ^-^

    I noticed that the page encodings were "wrongfully" set to UTF-8 for the past little while and was wondering why. >.<

    While I do think that UTF-8's, overall, a better choice, you can't just spontaneously make a change which breaks every existing post on the forum. I really think you ought to see if it isn't possible to convert all the existing posts to the new codepage. Even if this means a little downtime, I think it would be better than leaving all the existing posts like this. Or you could just go back to ISO8859-1. ;)

    I understood every part of that except the numbers XD;
    So,mLet PC be offline for awhile, Just... Yeah... Do what MetalMario said XD; "While I do think that UTF-8's, overall, a better choice, you can't just spontaneously make a change which breaks every existing post on the forum. I really think you ought to see if it isn't possible to convert all the existing posts to the new codepage. XD; Good idea, I'm already not liking this ><' Although i dare not post it XD; I'll get beat up. "Get's beat up" Too late... -.-'

    I thought someone was screwing with this place... or my browser was messing up...

    not every post is broken mostly it's affecting the e ( é ) in Pokémon and some non-standard characters used by a few members (both in their username and posts) over time it will become appearent that this switch is better overall for us and PC.

    While we'd love to go thru all the posrs and fix them, there isn't really an easy way to do that (and i know i'm not gonna browse/edit some 1.8 million posts) so it is as it is..

    Well thats great^^to hear...i thought pc...had a new name...O.o when i had frist seen it

    Well the least you could do is fix the titles of existing, popular threads. Keep us from seeing all these 's in thread titles everywhere.

    I still don't see why you couldn't make some sorta PHP script to translate all posts older than a given date to the new codepage automatically.

    I just have one question though, why the sudden change? I logged in here one day and it was a jumble why?

    Yeah, I had an issue with this too. My name was Charizard™ and since TM is made up of & # 8 4 8 2 ; vB thought it wasn't TM and didn't accept me.
    I think I was the one with this issue first. (Thanks to PPNSteve for changing my name!)

    I like the changes. I think they are good.

    a link allowing you to change the text encoding will be shown - this link will be removed at the end of this month.
    It's well into March and you still have the notice up there???? why????
