3rd Gen Unlucky

I've got a problem...

I was recently playing my Ruby, infact about 5 minutes ago and I was having a water Pokemon catching competition with my brother. I caught a lvl 37 gyrados and thought about how lucky I was as my brother hadnt caught any pokemon yet, I then noticed my batteries were nearly flat so I thought i should save it. It was in the middle of saying "saving dont turn off the power" when my batteries died. I just thought to myself no biggie :nervous: asuming I would only loose my gyrados but to my horror when I put in new batteries and turned my GBA on a message came up to tell me my Data had been erased. Something similar had happened before when it said I had no data but that was because the Cartridge wasnt in properly, so I turned off the GBA and turned it back on again, It once again said that my data had been erased :dead: . So im wondering, Is there any possible way to recover my save file or is it gone forever? :(

Oh. That's unlucky. I've never been in this situation before. However it happened to one of my friends. I don't think he tried to get his game back because he simply restarted the game. I don't know what you can do.

I'm sorry to say this, but your saved file has been lost forever. You'll have to start again.

Oh gosh, that happened to me once on the original Game Boy Color. It really made me mad. Taught me a lesson, change/charge my batteries.
