I don't know about that door. They either never intended for it to be anything but a door or they did plan something for it and then scrapped the idea. For all we know they could have had a mythical in mind but never got around it. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they had an idea for a mythical but then due to time schedules or money or whatever instead focused on what was there and what the next games where going to be. In that aspect they might have even decided to give the Pokemon away in the generation afterwards.
As for the Floette it was probably forgotten and will likely never be touched upon. The story has been told, people and developers have moved on (twice even) and why now go back to a Pokemon people don't care as much about as other ones?
But I remember playing around with it for a little. Back then when you could get pretty much any Pokemon you wanted through an exploit, that is.

I've always thought that the door had something to do with Volcanion, that we were supposed to one day get a key item via mystery gift that would unlock that door and Volcanion would be behind it.
But they seemed to be in a hurry to move away from XY, so nothing ever happened. Same with Eternal Floette. Probably meant to release it, decided not to, and at this point why bother. The only chance we'll have to see something happen with the door or AZ's Floette would be with eventual XY remakes, and even then it's not a guarantee.
