[Other Question] Updating Pokémon Essentials version

Hello everyone,

I'm currently making my own Pokémon fangame with Pokémon Essentials 16.2. I've recently seen this version is a bit old, and i would like to upload to 17.2. Is there any option to upload it without losing all my progress?

Backup your game, them copy your game into PE 17.2. Replace everyfile (except Scripts.rxdata and some PBS file). You must edit Scripts by yourself.

That's the wrong way around. By copying your game over into v17.2 directly, you're overwriting every single v17.2-updated file, aside from the scripts and PBS, as per your instructions. You'll also end up with a lot of duplicate and redundant files, because v17.2 changes the name of several files and folders. With that, you're then also breaking and messing with UI and Audio, because some things are v17.2, and some are v16 depending on if they changed.

So no, don't do that.
Instead, grab yourself a fresh v17.2 copy, and copy your maps, tilesets, autotiles and animations over to that new project. If you have any third party scripts, redownload them (if they work on v17.2!) and insert them in your new v17.2 copy manually. If you've made any changes to your old scripts directly, you'll have to locate those changes and make them again in your v17.2 project, assuming the code it pertains to hasn't changed.
Furthermore, you can also copy any fogs/panoramas or changed graphics over, and rename them if needed.
