Use of legendaries in battles

Is it fair to use legendaries in battle?

Yes, use of legendaries is definitely fair. With their great "power' comes rarity and hard to find.

I don't use them ingame because like others, I like to use Pokemon that I've raised from the beginning; it's just my preference. However, I feel like it's fair if the opponent uses a legendary. In fact? Bring it on! Adds some challenge (like N in BW).

A lot of legendary Pokemon are outclassed by some "regular" Pokemon out there. I guess I'm only thinking about this in terms of competitive battling. There are some that are considered Uber, however, ingame, you're allowed to use whatever Uber Pokemon you want, too. I used Excadrill in almost every one of my BW playthroughs and that Pokemon was booted out of the main tier before XY.

In legendaries too, there can be too categories. There are the ones which are banned in contests, battles etc. These usually involve the superpowerful ones such as Mewto, Dialga, Palkia, Groudon, Kyogre... IMO these should be excluded. Using someone such as Regirock or Cobalion is fine and also they do not come under the banned category.

well i catch legendaries for just my legendary collections but i don't use them in battle for me its like you are too powerful or like kinda unfair. i just use my usual pokemon team that worked hard to beat the game

Most legendaries are fair and fun to use competitively. The same thing can't be said about Ubers, though ( the 670+ Pokemon bar Kyurem-B, Regigigas and Slaking, as well as a few others.)
In-game.... hmmm, maybe those such as Regirock and Zapdos are ok, but more powerful ones such as Terrakion and Thundurus are questionable.

Legendary or not, Pokémon are Pokémon, and they will always be. Though, some of these legendaries do have quite a lot of power in them, and compared to average ones, they're extremely hard to take down. These kind of Pokémon aren't eligible to battle against others aside from their own, so they have their own, separate tier known as Ubers. Not all legendaries are like this, though; some aren't as powerful, but have enough strength to go up against the likes of Pikachu, Scizor, Gyarados, Charizard, and every other that you see every day. Those, if you ask me, are all okay to be used on your team.

People can use whatever Pokemon they want in battle, it's completely fair.
For example, whenever I battle my cousin he bans the use of fairy pokemon (idfk why) but i just say ♥♥♥♥ it u can't tell me what to use and use them anyway

That said though, I don't use them in battle
