User Reputation is Back!

This seems really cool. Now you can know which people are trolls and spammers. Well, you have to assume that but still its a really good idea. ^_^ (I just read to first post so I am probally missing something. XD)

That's exactly what I'm thinkin, though. Don't you think this will bring more prejudice to PC? What if that guy just has enemies that are spamming up his rep? Then you've already made that assumption that that guy isn't worth it.

I remember when the reputation system was in action a few years ago I'd give all those spam bots bad reputation points. There was also a thread in OVP where people kept sharing points.

Bringing the system back sure brings back some memories. I'll be sure not to abuse it as much as I used to. >.>

Hm, that is true. Maybe having the moderators or adminastrators approve bad reputation. That might help.

Unless the vB team have made huge changes to the system, there is no default method of checking the reputation, I don't think.

Well, can't you see who gave you points or took them away and if someone is abusing, then you report?

I really don't understand the point of having a rep system. What if people don't want to look bad by having their rep in the negatives?
No i'm not asking for bad rep, i'm just curious.

You can turn off Reputation display in Edit Options.

I can't believe this is back. That's why I saw that little green thing near my name, saying I'm on an obvious road not too far from victory.

Maybe everybody will play nice with this for once.

Nice. I saw this on another forum. I have a question though. Was it really THAT bad the last time we had it?

*disables self's rep.*
I'm not a fan of these things, but if everyone else is, fair enough.

Oh, I do like how it shows one's nature in the same place as age and number of posts etc.

Quick Question! Does this system still apply like it did in 2005.

Good rep power
Your good rep power follows this structure:
  • For every 100 days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
  • For every 500 posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
  • For every 30 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

I remember back when we had this before.. I had a really bad Rep.... I had no idea why. will we be able to get it changed if we think our Rep is unjustified?

I love how it says, "May you be lucky enough to receive the same reputation!" even if you give negative reps. XD
