As long as you don't glitch or use a gameshark/AR, it's all fair.

OBJECTION! It's fair cuz u had the resources to trade all 3 into one game I do it all the time. It's my money I do what I want. Look at Yellow Version it was fair to Red and Blue players

its only cheating if you get caight ;)
seriously though, its only cheating if you cheat to get them, cuz they pretty much suck neways

yes it be cheating. Ash has all 3 starters from each region (with the exception of Hoenn and Sinnoh) and he clearly hacks his pokemon

How? he loses every league

It really depends on how you use them. If you have your three starters, who has horrible stats and moveset, then it wouldn't really be unfair. Besides, they are just any other Pokémon one could use to battle it out with other trainers.

I say its only unfair if you hacked them in. Otherwise if you have 2 copys of pokemon or got them a friend its fine. Your right to do whatever with them.

I started with all 3 pokemon transferred from my pearl into my platinium.

Does it really matter? as i'll be trading the starter pokemon later on in the game so in my eyes i don't really see much difference doing it at the earliest stage.

Probably. I would say yes. But as Dan said. It would be cheating if you hacked or used a Tool to get the three starters. But when you trade them or something. It's not cheating anymore.
