    Meet The Team
[PokeCommunity.com] [UU] Penguins, Turtles, and Rocks.

    Rhyperior @ Leftovers
[PokeCommunity.com] [UU] Penguins, Turtles, and Rocks.

    Ability: Solid Rock
    248 HP / 16 Atk / 244 SDef
    Adamant Nature
Stealth Rock, Earthquake, Rock Blast, Megahorn
At First I wasn't going to use Rhyperior on this team. Rhyperior was only here to resist flying attacks (for Heracross... Who I've taken off the team...)
I was told Rock Polish could outspeed a lot of things... except for scarf damanitans with super power.
I chose Rock Blast over stone edge for two reasons. 90% Acc. and Can hit after breaking a Sub.
Liechi Berry ... I think Lefty's might've been a better item after a few battles. Life Orb was added for a boost in power.
~This set has proved to be working much better, and he is now able to live a 4X hit more easier now, and hopefully luckout with Rock Blast.

    Empoleon @ Choice Specs
[PokeCommunity.com] [UU] Penguins, Turtles, and Rocks.

    Ability: Torrent
    Modest Nature
    252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Hydro Pump, Surf, Ice Beam, Grass Knot
Empoleon surprised me. I never expected him to kill so many walls. I am very happy with Choice Specs Empoleon. I placed Empoleon on my team to resist Dragon, Grass, Ice, and Water. Some people don't even expect empoleon to K.O. Them at all.

    Zapdos @ Life Orb
[PokeCommunity.com] [UU] Penguins, Turtles, and Rocks.

    Ability: Pressure
    Timid Nature
    252 SAtk / 252 SpD / 4 SDef
Roost, Thunderbolt, Heat Wave, Hidden Power [Ice]
Bulky Attacker. Discharge to spread paralysis if I can. Heat Wave for general coverage. HP Fly for general stab. Eviolite Gligars are a bit of a problem... Immunity to Ground
~By switching to an offensive Thunderbolt Life Orb Zapdos has been more able to cause more damage that its previous bulky discharging, leftovers variant.

    Tangrowth @ Leftovers
[PokeCommunity.com] [UU] Penguins, Turtles, and Rocks.

    Ability: Regenerator
    Relaxed Nature
    252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Powerwhip, Earthquake, Hidden Power [Ice], Leech Seed
With two special attackers on the team. I figured it would be more wise to include at least 1 more physical hitter. I know I have two pokemon with HP Ice, and 1 with Ice Beam, but I feel lit it is needed to counter the random gligar and flygon.

    Ambipom @ Expert Belt
[PokeCommunity.com] [UU] Penguins, Turtles, and Rocks.

    Ability: Technician
    252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature
    - Payback
    - U-turn
    - Seed Bomb
    - Aerial Ace
My team was in need of a fast physical pokemon. And a counter to Chanderlure. Insert Ambipom. most people expect him to fake out, but He is here to kill fighting types.

    Torkoal @ Leftovers
[PokeCommunity.com] [UU] Penguins, Turtles, and Rocks.

    Ability: White Smoke
    Relaxed Nature
    248 Def / 252 HP / 8 SAtk
Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, Lava Plume, Earthquake
Torkoal is my Stealth rocker, and Spinner.
I really don't understand why there are so few spinners in the whole game.
I chose Torkoal for his great defensive's, and Lava Plume (The Original Scald). Earthquake is for Arcanine, Chadelure, and Hoondoom (Pokemon with Flash Fire). He was also implemented into the team to resist potential grass pokemon.
~Still hasn't found a replacement. I might need to add hoondoom, and a ghost type.
    ---------------
I feel that this team is missing a Poison, Fighting, and a good Flying attack (To kill those Fighting-types.) I'm thinking of adding a Rotom [Not sure which form.], and Crobat, but first I would have to remove two pokemon. Honestly I would like to keep Empoleon, and everyone else is subject for change.

    OK, here's a summary

For Rhyperior I may suggest replacing Substitute with Megahorn, as this extra coverage move will allow it to kill dark and psychic-types. Change Liechi Berry for Life Orb as it really needs that extra power.

Empoleon's Specs set is walled by any pure Water-type such as Azumarill and Suicune, so Grass Knot is recommended on these troublesome foes. Replace either Ice Beam or Flash Cannon with that move.

Torkoal is never seen in UU because it is weak to Stealth Rock and also very slow. Claydol is a much better choice for a Stealth Rock/Spinner as it has Levitate and a resistance to Rock.

    ~Stealth Rock
    ~Rapid Spin
    ~Earthquake
    ~Ice Beam/Toxic
    Item: Leftovers
Nature: Sassy (If using Ice Beam)/Careful (If using Toxic)

Tangrowth is always better than Tangela as Tangrowth has much better offenses. You could also try using Shaymin as a bulky Grass type. It's really up to you.

Zapdos' set is OK, but be careful of Swampert and Rhyperior, as they take little damage from her attacks. You could try substituting Toxic for Heat Wave if you wish, but that leaves it walled by Bronzong and Magneton.

Lunar Dance is a better move on Cresselia than Thunder Wave, as Lunar Dance supports your team.

At the moment your team looks good as it is in terms of defensive synergy. If you take my advice you should have better luck in the competitive battling scene.

I just added The Claydol [took out torkoal], and I got swepted by a calm minded
    Chandelure.
But that was the only time.
    -------------------------
I was trying to use Rhyperior as a set-up sweeper, that Life Orb helped :]
He is defiantly more defensive, and I can see use with him along side, a Storm Drain/Water Absorb, and Sap Sipper Pokemon.
    --------------------------
    Fire, Water, Grass
    Ghost, Fighting, Normal?
    --------------------------
It feels like my team has a lot of Bulk and no Power :[
    -------------------------
Not understanding how Encore works pass a sub when it is a status move.. I thought subs blocked all status induces.
    -------------------------
I'm still testing with your suggestions.
I am flip flopping with HP Fly and HP Ice on Zapdos.
    --------------------------
Boilurn how would you construct a team?

    To add to Boilurn's post:

Replace Empoleon's Flash Cannon with Grass Knot. It has redundant coverage with Empoleon's other moves.

Tangrowth is still the preferred option over Tangela because of its ability to use Leftovers and not be very reliant on Regenerator. Tangela is dependent on Eviolite and having that Knocked Off will somewhat ruin it (though its Defense is still decent). Tangrowth is also capable of going mixed if it has to:
    -Power Whip/Giga Drain
    -Earthquake/Hidden Power (Ice)
    -Sleep Powder
    -Leech Seed/Synthesis
    Nature: Relaxed/Impish/Bold
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Regenerator

If Zapdos is to go defensive, then it should use a Bold or Calm nature; right now, it looks like it's using an offensive set:
    -Discharge/Thunderbolt
    -Roost
    -Heat Wave/Toxic
    -Hidden Power (Ice/Grass/Flying)/Roar
    Nature: Calm/Bold
    EVs: 248 HP/236 SDef/24 Spe or 248 HP/236 Def/24 Spe
    Item: Leftovers

If Zapdos is to be offensive (and you said it yourself that this team needs a bit more muscle), then use any of these sets:
    -Thunderbolt
    -Heat Wave
    -Hidden Power (Ice/Grass)
    -Roost
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb

    or
    -Substitute
    -Roost
    -Thunderbolt
    -Hidden Power (Ice/Flying)
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 248 HP/84 Def/176 Spe
    Item: Leftovers

    or
    -Thunderbolt
    -Volt Switch
    -Heat Wave
    -Hidden Power (Flying)
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Specs

    or
    -Agility
    -Thunderbolt
    -Hidden Power (Ice/Flying)
    -Roost
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 180 HP/252 SAtk/76 Spe
    Item: Life Orb

    @ PlatinumDude
    Thanks for your imput. :]

I've made a few updates to the team.
I'm liking the update of Zapdos. It did me well. I'm actually considering giving Zapdos Agility over Roost so I can run a Modest Zapdos over the Timid one (but that would require a turn of set-up.) (also I like having a little bulk.)

I didn't go with the scarfdos, because I didn't feel like playing the prediction game of "A ground type might come in" and some guys run 2 ghost types on their team making it difficult to spin at times.

I haven't found an appropriate replacement for Torkoal yet, still testing between number 59 and Darmanitan.
I'm going to try a different set on Cress, but the team fells incomplete without a fire type, I would like a hard counter to Chadalure. (Perhaps I can use a Scarflure?) and a fighting spinner?
#Should Rhyperior be on the team it feels like he kills himself sometimes :[

Counters for Chandelure include Snorlax, Houndoom and Honchkrow:

    Snorlax:
    -Return/Body Slam
    -Earthquake
    -Pursuit
    -Crunch/Fire Punch
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 252 Atk/52 Def/200 SDef/4 Spe
    Item: Leftovers/Choice Band
    Ability: Thick Fat

    Houndoom:
    -Sucker Punch
    -Pursuit
    -Fire Blast
    -Crunch/Hidden Power (Grass)/Dark Pulse
    Nature: Hasty
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Flash Fire

    or
    -Nasty Plot
    -Fire Blast
    -Dark Pulse
    -Hidden Power (Fighting/Grass)
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Flash Fire

    Honchkrow:
    -Sucker Punch
    -Brave Bird
    -Superpower/Substitute
    -Roost/Heat Wave/Pursuit
    Nature: Adamant/Naughty
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Moxie

    or
    -Sucker Punch
    -Night Slash
    -Superpower
    -Drill Peck/Pursuit/Hidden Power (Grass)
    Nature: Jolly/Naive
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Scarf
    Ability: Moxie

I liked all the suggestions you gave, Snorlax, Honchrow, and hoondoom. (I am semi interested in using the crow.)

The team is coming along. After a lot of testing. I'm starting to understand what I want on this team.
Empoleon, and Zapdos work really well together, luring in each others weaknesses.
They work effectively as a core together. I love how Zapdos can run down some pokes. Roost has come in handy, healing off Life Orb Damage.

All the time I'm like Rhyperior you have to go, but when he goes to work I'm like. Rhyperior you have to say. He is a dual edge sword in away.
I really don't understand how Rhyperior can have a high attack stat and be able to OHKO, to be fair he doesn't have a 120+ Base Power move either (Rock Wrecker isn't viable). Rock Polish is ok, but might get replaced with SR, that 252 attack matters. but I'm not sure about that 252 speed (and he is Jolly right now)

Tangrowth.. after a few games I found her worth. She does damage when I need her to. I'm using a physical set with HP Ice, because my team lacks a lot.

From Snorlax I moved onto an Ambipom he goes to work for me.
For right now I gave him an expert belt.

Ambipom is here to replace Cresselia.
He is fast, and hits incredible hard.

    He Looks like this:
    Ambipom @ Expert Belt
    Ability: Technician
    EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
    Jolly Nature
    - Payback (Ghost Killer)
    - U-turn (Coverage, Switch Initiative)
    - Seed Bomb (Bulky Waters)
    - Aerial Ace (Kill Fighting, Grass Types)

I really needed a fast physical attacker. I know this pom can be improved. But I'm not sure in which way. Item change? C. Band or Life Orb (if I take it from Rhy.)

    The last things:
I still need a SRer. Which probably will be the role of Rhy. until I find someone else.
I don't predict Rhy leaving this team at all, but it he does it'll be for theSteel/Ghost/Ground NU Pokemon Golurk to SR, EQ, Shadow Punch, +filler

My options are add a spinner, minus ambipom, and add Doom or Crow.

Perhaps the last thing I need is a fighting type. Infernape or Blazekin would've filled that roll perfectly. I'm not sure which I'll need. .. perhaps Gallade?
@PlatinumDude Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Do you think I need a spinner? (If I have 2 pokemon weak to rocks I would use a spinner) (I've been up thinking of a 6th pokemon) I should go to bed. I'll update the original post soon.

There's a typo on Honchkrow's Choice Scarf set; I meant to put in Brave Bird instead of Sucker Punch.

Lack of STAB totally hurts on Ambipom. Ambipom may have a wide movepool, but some options are better on it than others. Aerial Ace is useless, as it really only hits Heracross, Hitmontop and Virizion, when Return does a good chunk to them already. While Seed Bomb lets Ambipom KO Swampert and Rhyperior, the use of Low Kick against Steel Pokemon is more important, as your current set is walled by it:
    -Fake Out
    -Return
    -Low Kick
    -Shadow Claw/Beat Up
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Technician

    or
    -Return
    -Low Kick
    -Pursuit/Beat Up
    -U-turn/Switcheroo
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Band
    Ability: Technician

Swampert, Bronzong or Cobalion can set up Stealth Rock thanks to their good bulk. Take note that Infernape is an OU Pokemon, while Blaziken is an Uber. Neither Pokemon is allowed in UU:
    -Stealth Rock
    -Earthquake
    -Scald/Waterfall
    -Toxic/Roar
    Nature: Relaxed/Impish
    EVs: 240 HP/16 Atk/252 Def
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Torrent

    or
    -Waterfall
    -Earthquake
    -Ice Punch
    -Stealth Rock/Roar/Toxic
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 240 HP/252 Atk/16 Def
    Item: Leftovers

    Bronzong:
    -Stealth Rock
    -Gyro Ball
    -Earthquake
    -Toxic
    Nature: Relaxed
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate

    Cobalion:
    -Stealth Rock
    -Sacred Sword/Close Combat
    -Volt Switch
    -Toxic/Hidden Power (Ice)
    Nature: Jolly/Naive
    EVs: 248 HP/28 Atk/232 Spe
    Item: Leftovers

Or you can go for an offensive Stealth Rock user, where they can use their good Speed or offensive pressure to set up Stealth Rock. Aerodactyl, Azelf or Nidoking/queen are good users of SR for those reasons:

    Aerodactyl:
    -Stealth Rock
    -Stone Edge
    -Earthquake
    -Taunt/Roost
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
    Item: Focus Sash/Life Orb
    Ability: Pressure

    Azelf:
    -Psychic
    -Fire Blast/Flamethrower
    -Shadow Ball
    -Stealth Rock/U-turn/Grass Knot
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb

    Nidoking:
    -Earth Power
    -Fire Blast
    -Ice Beam/Focus Blast
    -Stealth Rock
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Sheer Force

    Nidoqueen:
    -Earth Power
    -Fire Blast
    -Ice Beam/Focus Blast/Sludge Wave
    -Stealth Rock/Focus Blast
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 100 HP/252 SAtk/156 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Sheer Force

the guy's have given you all the help you need but I said I'd throw a spanner in the works myself :P

your team seems awfully..... bulky & susceptible to offensive suicune and crocune to a lesser extent excl. empoleon but once suicune has a few calm minds in grass know will do nothing, tangrowth is outsped and KO'd by ice beam(offensive) and 2HKO'd by crocune who'll just rest off power whip. theres also milotic but its not as common as suicune

now there are two ways I like to counter suicune, specially defensive max attack banded snorlax(platinum dude posted the set) and with thick fat it outright counters chandelure, albeit more of a gimmick Wacan berry scyther who also adds the flying type move you were looking for in aerial ace which receives a technician boost and stab

also this is only my opinion but hitmontop>torkoal because of intimidate and it has the fighting type move you were looking for but thats just my two cents
