Did you like Victory Road in BW? Was the design good? They departed from the usual completely inside areas this time to create a cliff caves sort of thing. How about those gates before it- did you like those? And were the pokemon inside of any use to you? Please reply xDDD

I think that BW's Victory Road was very well done. It was challenging enough, and had creativity put into it. However, I did NOT like the poke's found inside. They were weird, especially Durant. I also don't think a fire breathing anteater was a particularly good idea...

I thought the gate things were cute. I liked how they had themes for each gym gate. I hope this feature stays in future games, cause they could do a lot with it.

I like Unova's Victory Road because of its intricate mountain maze design; the Durant living in it may have made an anthill out of it, given that one of their Dex entries state that they dig twisting tunnels in mountains. It was tricky to navigate, but I did manage to get through it eventually. It was annoying that Victory Road was the only place where to find Deino.

I also liked how the gates before Victory Road had parts of the main Victory Road build up as you passed through them; they were a neat addition.

^You could get Deino in Dragonspiral Tower. That's where I got mine...
Really? I didn't see it there, either.

Also, the Bulbagarden bit on Dragonspiral Tower doesn't mention Deinos, nor do any walkthroughs I've seen on the tower. So how the heck did you get one?

I think we've just discovered the source of the landslide. Anyone?

Omg I hated exploring it BUT it seemed smaller, HOWEVER... the gates were amazing. n_n Seriously Mistralton's gate? Amazing.

Also I like that idea of Durant creating it, considering how if from an angle it does look like one of those crazy ant houses seen in glass, ya. Where would've the e4 building have been before that, though? And N's castle nearby couldn't the Durant effectively dug that up too? This is a little far off from Victory Road but it's kinda interesting so relevant sorta.

Since I never answered the TP's questions...

Being my first "official" walking of Victory Road, the fact that it's a seven floor colossus is a little intimidating to me. However, at the same time, the design is rather cool and it is the ultimate in exploration. It's too bad they didn't expand it a little more and have another storyline step there prior to the Pokémon League.

I don't really care much about the gate areas. However, the one where you floated on air instead of actually walking WAS kinda cool. (Is that Mistralton?)

Durant is a no-evolution type and, when I pitted it against Audinos, it proved to be STRONG. I think it will become my go-to Bug type when I explore Routes 11-15 later.

Deino is kinda meh. My Lv.49 one fell to a single Karate Chop from Sawk, so clearly it's not designed with defense in mind. Hydreigon isn't evolved until Level 64, so it would take a lot of grinding right now and I'm not taking it that far. (Same with Volcarona, it can wait until I move on.)

A fire breathing anteater (Heatmor)? Well, I guess he cooks his dinner thoroughly. Maybe burnt.

The rest are catchable in other Routes or caves, so that's all that needs to be reviewed at this stage. Even Haxorus can be caught as an Axew in the Mistralton Cave, so that's a reference point for Haxorus as I had it before the final Gym.

I found it challenging and the gates to be cool. I am considering catching a durant for competitive play so I like victory road. Also it says that you can battle a fraxure, but I can't find one. Any tips on that?

I know AxeW, its pre-evolution, is rare (like 5% rare) in the Mistralton Cave. Fraxure isn't as rare, though; he has a 10% chance of appearing...in the outside area where Heatmor is found.

I should be clear here because I at first wondered what was "outside". Many areas outside are not hiding Wild Pokémon. Different tiles indicate the "grass" area where they can be located. Meanwhile, inside the caves are all live grounds.
