TV Was Friends or HIMYM better?

    Time to debate. Do you think the show Friends or the show How I Met Your Mother deserves to be called better than the other? Friends came long before the other, being about six friends juggling dating and living together and all kinds of situations over the years. HIMYM, on the contrary, had a (seemingly) clear goal from the beginning - to tell the story of how the narrator met the mother of his children. But then it plays out in much the same style as Friends, I have to say. Except, they had a bar instead of a café to hang out in.

    Which show is the best?

    Do you think some other similar show thrones over both of these?
     
    I know that Friends has a huge fanbase, but I never really watched it. I did watch all of HIMYM and mostly enjoyed the series. I did not like the ending but I still go back and watch the earlier seasons.
     
    I loved Friends! Community did not throne over either, but I'd say it was more on-par.
