2. I would agree that it is silly.
I think that this thread has the potential to be a sticky thread, but it is above that, it has transcended the status held by the stickys. It is something BETTER than those, and stickying it would be bizarre and unnecessary. Plus, it needs to stay and conquer the front page of the normal topics.
