6th Gen Weeding Time

So gardening in-game has returned in a single Berry farm off of Route 7. Inside are 36 plots that can be occupied with Berries of your choosing. They need be watered only once (likely once daily), much like in the DW.

The new wrinkle here is that weeds now grow among your garden. If you show up a couple of hours after planting, you may spot one or two growing in your plants. Your job is to simply pluck them. More appear with the passage of time, making time travel not a viable option for the purpose of Berry growth.

Do you think this is a neat new addition? Do you wish we could just plant and forget? Or are you just happy that gardens are back in the main game and will roll with the punches?

Sure is more realistic to get weeds, but the frequency seems rather medium so far. The need to return every few hours has me not moving on so much yet from Route 7. I did the Double battle and returned to catch more Pokémon.

This New berry Mechanics is great it makes me feel like I'm playing Harvest moon :D

It makes it more realistic, which is good! I'm happy to see Berry Trees returning, even if it is restricted to just one field. It's a great feeling owning your own berry farm. ;D

Another cool mechanic is Pokémon nosing about the trunk of one of your growing Berry trees. Just took out a Lv.14 Spewta hanging around one such tree.

I'm reminded of birds and bugs pecking fruit off of a tree in our world. Evidently, trees can be damaged by this. If you have a single of a type of Berry, you must monitor it constantly until you have multiple.

I like the new feature as well. I'm defiantly happy that the berry planting and harvesting has come back. :)

I'm glad berry growing has returned; I really missed it in B/W. And yes, I do like the fact that you need to weed the berry trees now, it makes berry growing a little more involved. That said, the berry pots from HG/SS were far more convenient...
