    PAC 16 - #332: Going, Going, Yawn!

My friend- Darkgamer should see this Thread. I belive, he has a lot to say about it^^

Bad dub title. "Going, going Yawn" sounds like a episode about Snorlax. I belive, they used this title because Slugma uses Yawn attack, but honestly, it is not a good title for a huge fight between Flannery and Ash.
Episode is fine. I was shocked because Magcargo lost so quickly, but Slugma was much stronger. Flannery was a new Gym Leader, but not so easy to beat. Plus, Flannery is a very nice leader, little funny and smart. She knows, how to fight. What a pity, Ash didn`t lose with her first time. I still remember episodes about Blaine.

*Sees thread* *Bolts in* Discussion about Flannery episodes! YAY! Okay, I have no idea if I can talk about the first one, and I didn't see a discussion for it (I use Search Forums under the name "Flannery") but here goes for the second one: that was a really great battle, and Ash did have a good strategy, but was Treecko really necessary to use in a battle against Fire Pokemon? And the TR scenes were really pointless. They were'nt involved with the battle in any way, and made afailed attempt to interfere. Anyhoo, Flannery's strategy was working well, too, but Ash was gonna win eventually. Why must they make the main character win? ;-; *Ahem* Getting a little carried away now. Flannery's voice is cool, Her personality's great, and She's just... perfect. Using Yawn on Corphish was genius! Now, if only Ash didn't discover Torkoal's Iron Defense weakness... oh well. Torkoal tried. Too bad Overheat got too weak to beat Corphish. Then Flannery would be in more episodes! YAY!

Team Rocket was totally pointless and just there to fill in 3-4 minutes worth of animation. I would've just made the battle longer. I think this is the first time Pikachu got beaten by less than three Pokemon in Hoenn since the first fight in the saga. But he tore through that reflect like it wasn't even there.

Flannery fans who are disappointed that Ash won the first time they fought, at least take some solace in knowing that Flannery is the first 'official' Hoenn Gym Leader that managed to defeat Pikachu in battle.

The opening Hoenn battle doesn't count because it wasn't a Badge battle.

(They need better announcers for the League this time around...)

Pikachu: Yeah, and? Is that all you got?

I know Flannery beat Pikachu (YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but still, Ash could've lost anyway. Then Flannery could be in more episodes!

Well the one who came up with the thing where it said Seviper was good against Forretress must have been half asleep when he/she did that.

Well it was a great battle (well I turned the TV on when Magcargo was about to be KOd), I think they were well matched up and I think this is one of his best (if not the best) Gym Battles I have seen.

I must agree with Darkgamer and SBaby. Honestly, I think, every "Gym" episode should be without Team Rocket. I don`t know, why writers are so stubborn and they have to put them in every episode. Sometimes they can destroy everything (look: Morty vs Ash or Clair vs Ash). But it is not a time for that^^

I think, sometimes Ash is weird. I belive, he doesn`t know a lot about pokemon types. He used Treecko- a grass type. Plus, Treecko was hurted. I think, sometimes Ash doesn`t care about his pokemon.

It would have been better. And for those of you who were disappointed that she lost the battle, come on! I mean, Flannery beat PIKACHU!! A Gym of Rock Pokemon couldn't beat him! Come on! That HAS to tell you something about her skill as a Trainer!!

As for Treeko, I did find that odd... Why the heck would Ash let Treeko get hit by such a strong attack? I guess they were just trying to use the 3rd edition Pokemon to win more of the battles...
To quote Strong Bad: "Japanese cartoons are weird, man..."

The only thing I didn't like was that WB spoiled the episode before it aired... I already knew that Ash won from the commercial that showed him holding up the badge... Oh well... Can't be picky, I suppose...

This episode was okay. Reminded me of the old days Pikachu would volunteer to battle, then faint. LOL. I missed the opening teaser thing, and the theme song. I also missed the episode that came on before this one, something is wrong with my alarm clock. This was the first gym battle I've since Roxanne.

Eheheheh? I can't wait for the encore presentation next Friday now XD

Yeah! Encore! I can't wait! But my f***ing bus schedule might make me miss the first one! *Sues school then stabs the one girl that makes my stop last when it's usually first*
