weird symbol for energy in piplup cards

Hi all, this is my 1st post, so sorry if in wrong place.

On some of the piplup cards there is a weird symbol.

It is to the left of 'peck' on all variations with that move

Sorry but you will have to google "piplup card" so you know exactly what it looks like as I am not allowed to post URL yet :-(

What does this symbol mean? I have never seen it before...

That symbol means that the attack takes no energy. The baby pokemon from the HS/SS series have the same thing.

It's something that started late in the advance gen card series, iirc, and it comes in handy early on. But, yes, it needs no energy.
