What are the best, coolest Pokemon designs from each gen?

    Name up to 5 Pokemon from each generation that have the coolest designs ever!!

    In my opinion, gen 3 and 4 have the coolest Pokemon ever, with gen 3 being at the very top.

    Anyway, my own opinion is :

    Gen 1 - Starmie(and Staryu) , Vileplume, Vaporeon, Jynx, Seaking (many more like Lapras, Gyarados, Hitmonlee, Machamp and Scyther)

    Gen 2 - Girafarig, Foretress, Mantine, Scizor, Steelix (also Corsola, Octillery, Crobat, ,Misdreavus)

    Gen 3 - Beautifly, Loudred(and Exploud), Milotic, Lunatone and Solrock, Crawdant, Gorebyss, Ninjask, Torkoal, Spoink, Masquerain, Sharpedo, Aggron, Chimecho, Slaking! Damn! I know I only said 5 but gen 3 is full of cool Pokemon!!!

    Gen 4 - Hippowdon, Infernape, Roserade, Carnivine, Drapion, Kricketune, Yanmega, Tangrowth, Electivire, Toxicroak, Cherim, Gastro.... So many once again!!

    Gen 5 - Carracosta, Galvantula, Amoongus, Jellicent, Heatmor, Scolipede, Palpitoad, Volcarona, Unfezant... Many more.

    Kanto : Dragonite, Eevee, Charizard, Gengar, Pikachu

    Johto : Ampharos, Steelix, Scizor, Meganium, Quilava

    Hoenn : Blaziken, Swampart, Salamence, Flygon, Metagross

    Sinnoh : Gallade, Mamoswine, Torterra, Infernape, Garchomp

    Unova : Samurott, Unfezant, Conkeldurr, Chandelure, Archeops
     
    Picking 5 from each gen? That's a very tough question to answer, but i'll give it my best shot...

    Gen 1: Gyarados, Dragonite, Zapdos, Eevee & Hitmonlee.

    Gen 2: Dunsparce, Celebi, Tyranitar, Scizor & Heracross.

    Gen 3: Latias, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Flygon & Grovyle.

    Gen 4: Glaceon, Leafeon, Gallade, Empoleon & Shaymin (Sky forme & Normal).

    Gen 5: Zorua, Reshiram, Leavanny, Yamask & Galvantula.
     
    Not really much of a Pokemon design critic, but...I guess I can take a shot at it:

    Gen 1: Charizard, Scyther, Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite
    Gen 2: Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion, Crobat, Xatu, Heracross, Skarmory, Kingdra, Houndoom (yes I know that's 9...)
    Gen 3: Salamence, Ninjask, Sableye, Aggron, Manectric
    Gen 4: Torterra, Bronzong, Garchomp, Lucario, Gallade, Heatran (if Legendaries count!)
    Gen 5: Archen/Archeops, Tirtouga, Galvantula, Hydreigon, Haxorus

    johto: Megainum, Scizor, Aipom, Herocross, Bellosom
    hoenn: Ralts, Flygon, Metagross, Jirachi, Banette
    Shinoh: Pachirisu, Burmy, Stunky, Piplup, buneary
    Unova: Scrafty, Woobat, Ferrothorn, Keledo, Melotta
     
    Gen I: Vulpix -> Ninetales, Raichu, Eevee -> Vaporeon, Cubone -> Marowak, Dewgong

    Gen II: Cyndaquil -> Quilava -> Typhlosion, Espeon, Togepi -> Togetic, Quagsire, Umbreon

    Gen III: Absol, Banette, Poochyena -> Mightyena... Didn't like many from Gen III.

    Gen IV: Shinx -> Luxio -> Luxray, Ambipom, Stunky -> Skuntank, Togekiss, Glaceon, Leafeon (Lots more too!)

    Gen V: Lilligant, Krookodile, Archen -> Archeops, Musharna, Zorua -> Zoroark
     
    My personal favorites by design are mostly in order:

    • Kanto: Persian, Meowth, Flareon, Nidorina, Wartortle
    • Johto: Quilava, Furret, Typhlosion, Sentret, Sneasel
    • Hoenn: Linoone, Zangoose, Zigzagoon, Skitty, Delcatty
    • Sinnoh: Buizel, Floatzel, Leafeon, Glameow, Pachirisu
    • Unova: Dewott, Mienfoo, Watchog, Mienshao, Oshawott <---- max was 5, many others are missing
     
    I'll just name one in each region, excluding all the legendaries & starters:
    Kanto: Lapras
    Johto: Porygon2
    Hoenn: Breloom
    Sinnoh: Croagunk
    Unova: Archen
     
    Some regions I could've easily had 10, others had me struggling to come up with more than 3, but here are my top 5 from each region, order by Dex number:

    Kanto: Charizard, Ninetales, Gengar, Starmie, Gyarados
    Johto: Crobat, Umbreon, Slowking, Heracross, Tyranitar
    Hoenn: Sableye, Aggron, Zangoose, Absol, Rayquaza
    Sinnoh: Honchkrow, Lucario, Weavile, Porygon-Z, Giratina
    Unova: Excadrill, Sigilyph, Chandelure, Haxorus, Hydreigon

    Found it interesting that 13/15 of my first three gens of Pokemon were already said in this thread, but only 4/10 for Sinnoh/Unova up to this point.
     
    Hmm tough choice.

    Gen I - It's either Articuno or Vaporeon
    Gen II - Corosola, Celebi
    Gen III - Linoone, Zangoose, Milotic
    Gen IV - Gallade, Azelf
    Gen V - Bisharp, Conkeldurr
