What Color Should Shiny Gyarados REALLY Be?

I love the Red Gyarados, I think it looks awesome. However, Red Gyarados are apparently not natural. "According to the anime, this is due to the forced evolution; the Magikarp it evolves from retains its red color, having no time to change its scale color to blue." Red Gyarados are supposedly the only shiny pokemon then to evolve from a non-shiny pokemon as they come from regular Magikarp.

If this is the case, then what color should the shiny Gyarados actually be? Red isn't its natural color, should it be gold like a shiny Magikarp is? What color do you guys think?

A black gyarados would probably be pretty cool. Kind of like shiny Rayquaza. The snake of the skies and the snake of the oceans, blackening it up in shinyland.
