What do you do in a School Assembly?

In our school, assembly is every morning except Wednesday and Friday. I rather enjoy it, to be honest. =3

I shut up and listen, like I'm supposed to, because I'm a good girl. =3
I sing the hymns and I listen to what the teacher or sixth former leading the assembly has to say, because more often than not it's very important, and it's usually rather interesting. Besides, we get in trouble if we talk.

If that person yaps the usual stuff, about the school rules and whatnots, I'll pull out my gameboy and play when teachers are not looking. And of course, I'll listen if it's new and essential.

Meh, I usually try to talk to friends and if not I text or put my iPod in and put my hood up and that usually gets me through.

Assembly, school ceremony = same thing.

Every morning, we gather in the parade square to have the flag raising ceremony, and after that, the teachers will have the announcements. Most of the time it's just a few announcements and go back to class, but on certain occasions like exams, neighboring houses complaining about us and stuff like that, our principal will talk, and talk and talk. Until first period is practically over. You can actually here students moaning when our principal goes into the stage and says "Good morning, everyone."

Worse is that the vice-principal follows up the long speech. One and a half period is practically over.

So what I do is actually daydream and zone out. Seriously, it can't be helped. I'm not a morning person to talk to people in front of me.

Me and my friend Dan bring pens and pencils and draw on the leaflet they hand out. We play noughts and crosses/hangman.. etc. Paper games :D

hahaha. I text, pop in my headphones and listen to some music, and watch people throw junk and get busted when it's a pep assembly. XD

Of course, this was back before I graduated.

Usually text if I have my phone. We almost never have school assemblys. Or if I'm sitting with my friends, in dead silence, we'll make animal noises.

Like, "Meow! Moo! Baa!"

We only had them occasionally and I don't recall them to be overly exciting or boring... somewhere in the middle. Usually I sat there and listened, though sometimes I dozed off or let my mind wander if they went on for too long. Which they usually didn't.

(back in the day before cell phones lol)

I played pearl through all the assemblies at the end of grade 11 and all of grade 12. I think I caught heatran in an assembly actually...

Otherwise, just sit with my friends and talk. Especially during the multiple paraliturgies my school had...so boring.

Depends on what the assembly's about. If it's boring and pointless and it's stuff I've heard before, I'll probably do something else like homework or something that actually needs to be done. Or if I have nothing better to do, I'll sit around and scribble on papers or something. Something to keep me occupied through the pointless thing.

Back when I was in high school, I always just skipped them. It was much more fun to play "dodge the teachers" in the hallways with a few friends. They always ended up getting caught, and I never did. :3

We have to sit in our form group lines and it works out that about 7 of my mates and I get to sit near each other. We usually just talk and stuff amongst us or joke around with one of the Science teachers. And then there's my 2 mates Jayden and Michael who randomly moan and make sex noises when it's really quiet xD

Usually I sat there and did nothing special.
Sometimes we'd sit in the tree outside the chapel and— OH BUGGER WE'VE BEEN SPOTTED EVERYONE DISPERSE

I go to sleep if I am on a chair.
Nothing else otherwise :3

I only have a few a year and most of the time I'm sitting next to a friend so I'll just end up talking to them. Unless of course its something interesting... but theres never an interesting assembly in High school. :(

I just tune whoever is talking out, then the time flys by.
