[Theory] What do you guys think the level of education is in Pokemon?

I didn't play the newer generations, so bear with me. I know ScarVio has an academy, because my partner is watching me write this and told me there was an academy that most of the storyline happens in. So this is with my general knowledge.

But, from what I remember, most of the actual schools and academies have to do with battle strategy more than actual history, writing, and so on. I think there are also schoolboys and schoolgirls as a trainer type, but I don't remember if they were actually connected to anything. Again, bear with me. I just remember that the primary form of schooling that we see in the game are various trainer schools that have a large function of helping the MC/player learn about different ways that they can battle. I have a few different theories about this:

    1) Trainer schools actually do teach the students about what we would consider our education - teachers just specifically do it by using Pokemon battling (and other forms of Pokemon interaction) as the basis for teaching different subjects to students. Physics, biology, and so on are all topics that I can think of that can be taught through Pokemon, and maybe that is just something meant primarily for younger trainers compared to older trainers? Especially since there is a plethora of scientists and such, so I see it as plausible - there might be universities that are just not shown in the game, since the MCs tend to be very young, and probably would not be thinking about stuff like that.

    2) Libraries are where most education primarily takes place (?). Hear me out here. You learn plenty about the lore of whatever region you are in, as well as various other miniscule things that happen throughout the Pokemon world. And we only see a small portion of what is in those libraries; who knows what's in there that we just cannot read? But, because of that, and the fact that it seems as though a lot of the younger people in the Pokemon world are very enthusiastic about the world, maybe classes that students choose to take also happen there?

    3) They just... don't go to school? Maybe they learn things on the job, and make scientific theories based on that, or whatever else it is that they are doing. People can maybe just decide to become a historian or a scientist on a whim and have to figure it out. I feel like this is the least plausible, especially given that there is an actual academy in Palda, but I don't know... maybe.

If someone could either kill me (jokingly) about this and tell me how wrong I am, or also provide their thoughts, I would love to hear!

Imagines it as mostly the first scenario. Clearly learned how to read, at minimum. (Reads signs and books without issue, after all.) Likely centers everything around Pokemon, to some degree. Teaches several normal subjects in Scarlet/Violet's academy, like Math and History. Asks you how many Pokeballs you get for 2000 Pokedollars, for example. Adds Indigo Academy from Pokemon Horizons too. Shows off music class and biology classes (both with Pokemon).

Applies for a Pokemon license as early as the age of 10...roughly. (Saw plenty of kids younger than that with Pokemon in the games.) May choose to either go on a Pokemon journey OR go to a school (about Pokemon). Talks about it a little in The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga.
    Bulbapedia Summary said:
Ash doubts that Gary can make it as a professional Trainer while Gary angrily insists that he can, and then he gloats that Trainers on their quest are exempt from school.
Never saw anything about how long they attend a general Pokemon school. Guesses until at least 16 years old. Covers a lot of Pokemon nowadays. Potentially returns to school after the Pokemon journey too.

Presumably branches out to more specialized schools or apprenticeships after that. Recommends checking out the Bulbapedia page. Some examples from there:
    • Pokemon Nurse School. Trains people like Nurse Joy.

    • Gyms and dojos. Finds all those trainers there for a reason.
    • Temples for religious matters.
    • A training center about Electric Pokemon and getting them to generate power.

Probably undergoes some on-the-job training for other things, such as construction. Needs to be able to work with Pokemon like Machop.

Thank you so much for responding :0

I think this makes a lot of sense. Definitely sounds like the schools in the Pokemon world would be a lot more like CTE schools though, compared to actual places such as universities and such... makes me wonder if there are actual universities that might exist in the Pokemon world that we don't necessarily know about from the canon.
