What do you think would've been popular if there was no Pokemon?!

I'd probably say Yo-Kai Watch as far as these days' franchises are concerned, since it has been giving Pokemon a run for its money and is extremely popular with Japanese kids, to the point they are even giving up on Pokemon. I believe the traditional Japanese feel of the Yo-Kai resonates well with its demographic and would definitely be the most popular thing today in a non-Pokemon universe.

I would say Digimon although I'm not sure it would've existed had it not been for Pokemon being such a hit as it became. I guess without Pokemon or if Pokemon flamed out shortly after it began Kids WB would've made one of their own shows the big hit at the time of Pokemon's popularity peak.
