I wanna go to college and get traing to become an architectural engineer and illustrator
I'm good at math and drawing, so I guess that a job like that would be cool

Ialso want to be a cartoonist of some sort (not exactly animer or Mangaka)

It may be limited, but its good to learn and put together many diffrent types of computers, and learn even more about hardware information, and specifications.

Never work in the computer field... The computer field doesn't give you that much money or opertunities... it's limited...
That is soo true. My dad is an IT specialist, and he has been one since around 1986. when the company he worked with since the beginning of his career went bankrupt a couple years ago, he has had trouble finding a job that pays anywhere near he used to make before. He used to make around $50,000 a year, and he currently earns like $43,000 a year. The problem is that they are training IT professionals in India who will work for a lot less (seriously, $35,000 American is a lot of money for them), and also, as younger employees (like us) enter the workfield, the need for an IT guy diminishes as the worker himself can fix any computer problems by himself...
it is bad...and even worse, I fear for my brother, who has his heart set on becoming a computer programmer...a career that isn't as lucrative as it seems in a field that is heavily unstable...

Because awhile ago there is a computer technology rush. Then every student saw it as an opportunity and everyone rushed there. So now there's too much computer specialist with too little jobs. So the classical supply-and-demand problems appear...

the current trend is the environemental field. Environemental issues are a big problem to the world, so it has great potential.

...of course, there will always be a demand for artisans...that's why I personally believe that everyone should study at least one of the fine arts in high school

There will also always be a demand for doctors too. There are more jobs than there are doctors.

no... doctors are like the computer science field right now... at least everyone in my generation is "i want to be a doctor"... when you make it out there i predict that the field is flooded with doctors just like what happened to the computer industry. We are lacking doctors, but only in certain places in need such as the 3rd world countries. The "money-making" places like USA are filled with them...

if you are a religious person, i am 100% sure that the whole world is lacking pastoral staffs for any religion alike... the second you step out of the missonary school, you will be employed. Though you cannot make much, it's one way to serve for your religion.

(NOTE: focus on the job of PASTORAL STAFF, not the RELIGION itself please)

Most people want to be one, but unlike other jobs only a very few smart people make it in. The amount of women doctors over men is getting pretty high too.

    pastoral staff?
ehh...I would have a problem with that. I am Catholic, and a Catholic priest cannot get married or have sexual relations otherwise...something I personally don't want to sacrifice

Heh...I don't really know about the US, but in Canada if you're a doctor you're pretty much guaranteed a job as soon as you get out of med school.

And...pastoral staff...well, considering the climate of the world right now, it might not be the best idea ever to get involved with organizations like the Church...charities and non-profit organizations that help the poor and whatnot YES...but...yeah. N'stuff. *shrugs*

My parents are both in the oil business, and they constantly tell my sisters and I not to bother...fyi, I guess.

Though, I have given thought to being a scientist.

You know when people tell you that you should have a job that you enjoy, well it's wrong. It's all about the money. MONEY!!!!!
I disagree, I'm going to be a bodyguard, an cartoonist, because I want to.

    No way I'm becoming a dancer, a doctor, a lawyer, a engineer cus of the d@mn money.. If it was all cus of the money, then I would have become a bum o_O;;

Why work if its something one doesn't enjoy?
