    Sometimes people who are viewing the same thread as me will have a + next to their name, what does this mean please?
     
    It means you have come in contact with that person either through VM or PM. Or what the people below stated. :p
     
    That means you've added him/her as a friend. Nothing to worry about.

    Exactly what I meant. If you have come in contact or are a contact of someone then they have the plus.
