What eeveelution do you recommend?

I wouldn't say Jolteon is trash in GO. It's more like Vaporeon is overpowered by a long shot.

I have two CP2000+ Vaporeon and a third that can be buffed to CP2000+. I have another Eevee capable of evolving and if that turns out to be Vaporeon, it'll also be CP2000+. Meanwhile, Flareon would be in the CP1500-1700 range and Jolteon would be CP1300 or so.

Like a lot have said it depends what you need, water pokes are OP in PoGo right now so Jolteon would help
 
Depends on what pokemon types in your area, my area there is a river by all the local pokestops so everyone has water types so jolteon is really useful for me, but i maxed out my Vaporeon and Jolteon (for my level) and the difference in CP is massive. My Vaporeon is 1782 whereas Jolteon is only 1355. Tbh Flareon is only good as long as there aren't a lot of water types in the area, despite Flareon being my favourite 1st Gen Eeveelution i cant use it in Go atm until more grass types are available locally.

Also if anyone is trying to use the naming trick for the evolutions you need to restart the app after changing the name for it to work
 
Latest update last night has reduced vaporeons water gun to 6 damage from 10 so it's not as uber as it was, however it is still the best of the 3 so unless you can't find electric or fire in your area then vaporeon is still probably the way to go.
Also the naming trick didn't work for me last night and got a jolteon instead of a 3rd vaporeon, I still will always try the naming thing if I need to evolve another one since I think it's worth a try and I've seen it work in 3 out 5 times

Do we know which is now the strongest of the bunch after the patch or is this just speculation? I'm very hopeful that they're all on a much more even power level now, it's such a shame seeing poor Jolteon down in the dirt whilst the others take all the glory. (Well, one of the others...)
 
Vaporeon is still the strongest but if anyone is thinking of evolving an eevee then it depends what is in your area, if you are by a river then it's worth getting a jolteon, if you live near lots of grass Pokemon then go flareon and if you near lots of fire or rock/ground then go vaporeon
 
Vap or Flareon are the best by far! Flareon is often underestimated, she's a lean killing machine! :-)

So is Jolteon actually worth getting now then? I've heard several times in the past that even despite the good type match-ups it can have Jolteon still just isn't worth getting. The super-effective bonus only being x1.25 in this game makes that kind of thing feel pretty irrelevant compared to raw stats and from what I understand Jolteon is severely lacking in those.
 
I attacked a gym a few days ago (since the update) and my 1415 jolteon lost to a 1430 vaporeon so that gives you a good sense of how much stronger Vaporeon is than jolteon. However my area is severely lacking in electric types so jolteon is the best that there is.
Flareon is very strong but I've got an Arcanine and since my area is mostly populated by water types then fire isn't much use to me

The naming trick is only guaranteed to work the first time you use it for each of the three - once you've gotten one of each, it no longer considers the name and your 'rainer' only has a 1/3 chance of turning into a vaporeon.

ive read a lot of comments elsewhere saying the naming trick only works once
 
Hmm, that's a shame if it's true, it was really nice having a reliable way to evolve them. Do you guys think they'll introduce a new way to control the evolution? I guess with how common Eevee seem to be in a lot of areas there's not too much need for it, especially with the trio being a little closer in balance now, but I can imagine a lot of people getting upset over this.

It's generally reported as fact over on Reddit, where there are endless posts of 'name trick didn't work!' 'You already used it once didn't you?' 'Oh yeah...' Basically it's so commonly shown to act like this that there's no point doubting it any more.

I can't link to Reddit from work though, so you might have to dig yourself.

I personally don't mind it - the naming trick enables you to guarantee pokedex completion from three eevees.
 
The Eevee evolves I have so far are Flareon and Jolteon. The one I like the best and maybe because it has the most CP is Flareon.
