Ok, so, so far Charizard is the only one of Ash's pokemon i like other than because of what type it is, as it actually ignores Ash, rather than worshipping him like half the humans in the anime do.

But, then i watched a Battle Frontier episode, and Charizard even lets Ash ride him!

But, in Kanto, Charizard still deems Ash and Pikachu unworthy of his attention, so Richie beats Ash! (i think he assumed Sparky was Pikachu), So why did Charizard lose his intelligence like all of Ash's other pokemon??

And also, in Pallet Party Panic, he shows he's just a moody git, when he's not bothered about Team Rocket until they destroy the food.

    What happened to the rebel?

The reason why Charizard respects Ash is because in the Orange Islands episode, "Charizard Chills", Ash stayed up all night trying to help it after becoming frozen by a Poliwrath. I guess it just made Charizard realize that Ash really cares for it.

isn't this how most of ash's pokemon change their feelings toward him.

something happens to them, then ash helps them through it.

i think ash plots these things as a last resort to befriend his pokemon. lol

Well: Charizard battled against a poliwrath (charizard was still rebelious at this point. Note: this was at the beginning of Johto), Poliwrath froze charizard, Charizard lost, Charizard was still frozen, Ash spends the whole night defrosting him even when his hands get blisters, next morning charizard is better, and charizard got respect for ash. Then they both challenged the Poliwrath again and beat it.

Then Ash left it for Charific Valley afterwards

    THE END

Has anybody else noticed that in relation to the games, Charizard not listening to Ash makes absolutely zero sense?

Once you get the eight badges in Kanto, ALL YOUR POKEMON ARE SUPPOSED TO LISTEN TO YOU. XD

And here poor little pathetic Ash is, having beaten almost all four leagues' gym leaders, AND having gone through Battle Frontier all the way, and Charizard still has no respect for him.

Charizard must be edging on level 400 or something for him not to be listening to Ash. XD

he didn't go through the battle frontier yet when charizard started to like him again, he didn't even get to johto yet

I suppose you're right, but that's beside my point. Charizard still isn't fully tame as far as I can tell, and in relation to just the Kanto region games, Charizard should have been listening to him before then.

I always just found that silly. We all command our own level 100 pokemon yet Ash can't command his most likely level 60-70 or so Charizard.

Charizard goes to live in that Charizard Valley in Charizardtown with that other Charizard.

You see it in the third film, as they ironically have a TV iirc.

Yes . Charizard was really badass when he didn't behave . He wanted to be ... different I gues . I also watched the "Charizard Chills' episode and yep , Charizards is gonna freeze in a battle against a Poliwrath and Ash is gonna stay up all night defrosting it . Then Charizard becomes boring . :-(

    *note : 400th POST - ROCK ON !!!*

Charizard still blasts Ash when it shows up though...it just listens to him in battles now...it even gets into arguments with his other pokemon as well.
Personally Charizard has always been my favorite of Ash's pokemon! That and......the levels in the series don't make ANY sense at all....Pikachu HAS to be level 100 by now! And he STILL gets 1 hit KO'd a lot D:
