4th Gen What is Claiming?

I wonder that myself, really. I'm new, so I wouldn't know.​
 
It's nothing to do with the games itself. There's a thread somewhere where you can "claim" Pokémon as your own, and then just link them in your signatures. I think it's very pointless, but other people love it and are very serious about it. It's not just Pokémon either. Anime, entertainment etc has them too.

Interesting. Then from this day forward, I claim Froslass as my own!!
 
Well, Mizer for example, has the "I claimed Drifbloon" [Or whatever the pokemon's name is]. Could be that they're the ones most known to use such and such pokemn, hence they "claim" it as their own?

-Shrug- Again, I wouldn't know.
