This pretty much sums up what I was going to say. They had potential with Gen 3, but they threw it down the drain.
EDIT: Sinnoh wasn't that great either. It took ages to start off the game and just dragged on.

Favourite: Kanto
Original and awesome, with Mew, Snorlax and Dragonite, Kanto rules for me.
Least favourite: Sinnoh
Although I liked the games D/P/Pt and the pokemon, I just prefer the other 3 gens of pokemon.

Gen 2 is my favorite, hands down, no contest for me. Gen 3 was the most disappointing.

My favorite gen has to be all of them, I enjoyed each and every one equal. :)

As some have said, my favorite generation is defiantly the 2nd Gen, but I was very disappointed by the 3rd Gen in comparison. Overall I think all generations were fine, some were just better.

So much Hoenn-hate...Hoenn is my favorite region in terms of geography and legendaries...it's not my overall favorite, but far from the worst.
My favorite generation has to be GenII. Having Johto and Kanto in the same game makes it have the biggest in-game map of all the generations, a longer adventure, and the most interesting E4 of any Pokemon game
My least favorite has to be GenIV. So many of the new pokemon are just plain wierd, The darker storyline with Team Galactic just felt way out of place in a pokemon game, and maybe it's just me, but everyone in Sinnoh seems to talk with a funny accent. >_>
