I'd like to use Pokemon that I've never played with before! So maybe my team might look like this?

Slowbro is underrated if you can mitigate or manage its slow speed. Amnesia with Surf and Psychic... nasty. Don?t forget about Alolan forms!

Since we now know we must have a pokemon strong against each gym before we can take it on... this is my new team.

Nidoking
Arcanine or Ninetails (If I can trade, I'll get Arcanine)
Alakazam (If we can trade like GTS early)
Gengar (Same as Alakazam)
Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon (Depending on how early Eevee can be caught)

If we have to do this for the Elite 4 as well, I will also use these.
Poliwrath or Primeape
Gyarados or Dodrio

Not bad, but everywhere I've read says they intend to include Alolan variants to fill in the holes in the Kanto Pokedex when it comes to Typing(Dark, Steel in particular). That means Alolan Ninetales(Ice/Fairy) will be available to you and would make an ideal counter to Lance no?

If Alolan Ninetails is in the games, I will definitely be using it over other pokemon. However, I thought Masuda himself had confirmed that there wouldn't be Alolan Pokemon in the game in an interview, which is why I didn't include any of the Alolan forms. I could have misread that though

Alright, so what I'm planning to do is ditch the Eevee as soon as possible because you can't even evolve it. From there, I plan to recreate my most recent FireRed team which has been really successful to me, and I hope to reuse it here as well. Also, this should hopefully cover all the gyms...but if my Nidorino isn't evolved yet I'll just nab a Diglett, and I'll try to nab a Gengar for Sabrina. This will consist of:

- Blastoise
- Raichu
- Arcanine (I'll need to trade for this one...)
- Nidoking
- Pidgeot
- Machamp

This works for Generation 1-6. If you want Gen 7, you?ll have to look elsewhere like deviantart.

it's hard to pick between Pikachu and Eevee to be honest... but since I like Magneton, and because I like me a maximum variety of types in e team, I'll probably go for Eevee...

I might as well post a "what if" for when and if I get a Switch and one of the games. The more I look at exclusives(and the fact I have extensive experience with Pikachu in Yellow version), I'm leaning more and more towards Pikachu version despite the fact Eevee version has Vulpix. Why do I like Pikachu version? Answer is below.

Pikachu: Electric. Its moves will likely be Thunderbolt, Electroball, Thunderwave and Double Team. Granted being the starter, I may replace a move or two with one of the exclusive moves.

Poliwrath: Water/Fighting. Counters Fire, Rock, Ground, Normal, Dark and Steel. Unorthadox pick I know but Poliwrath has come a long way since Generation 1. Its moveset likely will be Waterfall, Brick Break, Hypnosis and Bulk Up

Sandslash: Ground. Version Exclusive that I use every time I can in Yellow and its learn-set has improved drastically over its Generation 1 days. Perfect counter for Electric, Fire, Rock, Poison and Steel. As for moveset, probably Earthquake, Swords Dance, Slash and Swift

Alolan Sandslash: Ice/Steel. Never had the opportunity to play with Alolan Pokemon but its typing truly makes it a Swiss Army Knife. Its Ice moves destroy Grass, Ground, Flying and Dragon while its Steel Typing yields a Poison immunity(not to mention loads of resistances) and obliterates Rock, Ice and Fairy Types. In other words, a perfect counter against Erika(if obtainable by then), Koga, Lorelei and Lance. For moveset: Iron Head, Ice Punch, Swords Dance and Metal Claw

Alolan Raticate: Dark/Normal. Specialist Alolan Type that counters two specific Types in Ghost and Psychic. In other words, he's here to obliterate Sabrina and Agatha. For moves, I'm thinking Bite, Crunch, Swords Dance, and Hyper Fang

Pidgeot: Flying/Normal. Covers primarily Bug and Fighting but also Grass if Alolan Sandslash isn't available for Erika. To add insult to injury for opponents, it Mega Evolves and utilizes the following moves: Air Slash, Sand Attack, Quick Attack and Aerial Ace

Together, the team is Super Effective against everything and I mean everything. Furthermore, it doesn't utilize any of the Kanto starters, Dragons or Fairy Types.

. . . all i've got left to get so far is jolteon! :') hopefully it won't take me too long to catch another eevee. i'm super excited about this team because in previous kanto games (e.g leafgreen and red, the only other two i've played lol) the difficulty has been more intense and i've been forced to use genuinely strong pokemon, but because let's go isn't too bad difficulty-wise i can actually use pokemon that are weak but that i love. makes me super happy.
