What level do you think Ash's Pikachu is at?

yeah it get's punished in the movies and tournements.

i think it was close to level hundred when he got it

*bangs his head against the desk* Levels do not exist in the anime. >_O This is not an RPG we're talking about. They ditched the whole numbered levels thing back in Kanto.

You keep saying that Raven, but for the sake of argument, if they did use levels, what do you think Pikachu would be on?

Personally, I'd have to say over 100. Since Pokemon seem to be constantly increasing in power, it would be safe to deduce that in the Anime, there is no limit in level.

I think it's close to 100, but not over. I mean, sure it's been through three regions, but when I was trying to beat the Elite 4 on my Pokemon Gold game, my pokemon were only up to level 60 at the most. I mean, Ash has battles with mainly gym leaders and a few trainers--it's not really that much compared to the number of battles in the games. Though I suppose he could do things off-screen.

That's the problem. Even IF they existed, it'd be a problem several times considering Pikachu's experience and then all the times it's battled other Pok?mon of characters from the games. Could you imagine how ridiculous it'd be for something near level 100 being pummeled by a Yarukimono at level 27 in the third AG episode? Or if it was actually as high in level as Pikachu, wouldn't you find it terrible for those starting off on their journeys and end up having to deal with an uber high-level Nosepass?

Levels just CANNOT work in the anime.

THERE IS NO LEVEL. If he was at 100, the gym leaders at hoenn must also be at 100 if it takes tem that long to beat. I agree that levels dont work on the show...

I understand that Pokemon isn't Dragonball Z (even though they ripped tons of things off of it). However, you're forgetting what the name of the topic is. It's supposed to be hypothetical. And Raven, you still didn't answer my question.

Anyway, in D&D (what EVERY major RPG and Anime based off an RPG takes at least something from) you can exceed Level 100, so it's reasonable to think that Pikachu could be over 100. Of course, I don't think he's much over that yet, probably around 120.

Well if it was for him to be in a game it'd be around 90-100's. For the show though I bet it would be impossible to tell, it's probably surpassed a ton of pokemons powers. It's not stronger than ones like Mewtwo though I know that, so whatever level Mewtwo is we can probably assume Pikachu is weaker and go from there.

Pikachu doesn't have a level, because no matter how much expeirience he has, he still can't beat some gymleaders in other lands. Kanto, he'll master it and then he'll goto Johto and have trouble there when the levels are back down to what they were in Kanto. Levels are not in the anime.

If Ash was walking in some Pokemon Yellow with Pikachu trailing him, I'd say around 70.

Strength 114 Defense 92
Magic 223 Magic Defense 138
Agility 192 Evasion 207

Auto-Abilities
Break Damage Limit Break HP Limit
Evade & Counter Lightning Eater
Lightningstrike SOS Shell
Triple Overdrive SOS Protect

I think it isn't necessarily the level but the auto-abilities. Barring legendaries, that Pikachu is one of the few Pok?mon I know of that can break the damage limit...and do over 9999 damage in one attack. It's not the levels, it's the damage Pikachu can do. *COUGHISOBSESSEDWITHFFXCOUGH*

There is level. I remeber Ash sayying something like "I hope its level enough bla bla" but levels aren't so effective as in a RPG.

Ya know, its funny in the anime, Pikachu takes down a Dragonite in Orange Islands, then gets his butt kicked by Tetsuyas Meowth XD Dang that oddly dress Meowth took him down XD

Well do you guys remember when Ash battled the girl at the Pokemon Trainers School? She had levels for her pokemon. But those were acording to the RP Training Program they had.

So yeah there is not levels. It is all based on strategy.
