What level do you think Ash's Pikachu is at?

Has to be 100 at least, well, maybe a bit below

Please. PROOF that levels do not exist is how much trouble Satoshi's Pok?mon tend to have with the first Gym Leaders of the latest regions. Do you actually think Pikachu and Nosepass are halfway on to level 100? Possibly more? If levels did exist, that'd REALLY suck for the new trainers who want to get their first badge. Levels don't exist becuase it's not logical to be placed in. Not to mention, Satoshi would breeze through each region. It's all about strategy and experience.

 Pokemon don't have Levels in the Anime, as Elite Trainer Raven said.

But I guess if it did, it would be 60 or somthing, Pikachu isn't that great.

Ash makes pika hold lightball at LV 100. He should have sweeped through hoenn. W00T! xD

Levels in the anime are obviously not logical. ;D

Pikachu beat TWO Pokemon in a row in the first Gym Battle!!! And they were Rock Types!!! Come on!!! That's got to tell you something!!! Plus, didn't you notice that Satoshi stopped using Pikachu for awhile after that? It was because EVERYONE knew that Pikachu would walk through the first third of Hoenn. It wouldn't even be a challenge until he got to Flannery!!!

You do realize Pikachu didn't just blast through those two, right? I mean..you DID watch the episode, correct? Cause Nosepass was quite close to actually winning. o_O

Yeah, I know. Nosepass was close to winning, after Pikachu defeated the first Pokemon by 'levelling' the playing field. He didn't have that much power in the beginning of the show. Also remember that Pikachu defeated two ROCK Pokemon!!! In a row!!! There was no rest between the fights!! He was already tired from the first one when he got to Nosepass!!! And he STILL won!

I must remind you, SBaby, that the Anime bends the rules a little. Pikachu was able to beat Geodude (who was part-ground)-I dunno how, but it contradicts some episodes and vice versa, like in the 1st Movie. To me, it would have been easier if Pikachu iron tailed Geodude and Thundered Nosepass-but then how would they stretch that into 30 minutes?

The show's been going on since 1998 ('97 if you're genuine <_<). Pikachu gained his power through EXPERIENCE, not LEVEL.

But if you really want to know my opinion...uh...close to Level 100?

1) The anime NEVER stated Rock-types had the subtype, Ground.
2) Rock-types are NOT immune to Electricity.
3) Ishitsubute was using Rollout, making it difficult for most attacks to work properly. Pikachu had to destroy its footing and then use a close up Thunder attack.
4) So Pikachu won with low health, big deal. The same thing can be accomplished in the games. o_O Plus Pikachu spotted an advantage against Nosepass and pulled it off sucessfully.
5) Pikachu's Iron Tail was not perfected yet, making it difficult to use to begin with. Plus the speed Ishisubute was going at, plus the power of the attack would make it very difficult to land a proper physical attack on it.

1. I'm guessing you're talking about Geodude--I don't know many japanese names. Anyway, if you are, then you should know that Geodude is part-ground, which SHOULD make electric attacks useless, but Pikachu still beat it, so there's something wrong with the show...

2. Sure, levels obviously don't work in the new episodes, but this is a THEORETICAL discussion, meaning if they DID work, what would the level be?

3. As far as newbies getting crushed, you're assuming that the levels of starters in the show are still at 5. What if they're not? What if Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip were raised to level 55 (and Birch used Everstones to keep them from evolving) to give them a fighting chance?

4. As for the level, it has to be well over 100. Remember that Ash's Pikachu has higher Sp. Atk than a normal Pikachu (why Team Rocket wants it so much), so who's to say that it can't breach the LV. 100 barrier?

Hard to say since ash's pikachu has kicked some serious butt, but still lost to Norman's vigoroth even though his pikachu should be somewhere around the level 89 or so his pikachu's levels grow and drop down again it's kinda weird.

Yes. But also remember that Pikachu's not the only Pokemon that gets stronger with each battle. All of them do. So of course there's still going to be things that can knock him out!!

And Raven has a good point. Pikachu had to destroy Nosepass' footing to defeat him, since he was running out of power after annihilating the entire environment of the Gym. So, if levels don't exist, one can deduce that he should have been able to single-handedly do that in the beginning of the series too. He just didn't know Iron Tail before.

Actually, I believe that Gym Leaders have different teams of Pok?mon to deal with opposing trainers with varying amounts of experience. That's why Winona never used her Skarmory in that Gym battle--it would be on her team for opponents stronger than Ash. If I were a Gym Leader, I'd do the same thing. Check out this post I made at a different forum in a similar thread.

When he first got it.........

When he first got it......... it must of been on lvl 16-25......... because it didn't listen to him
(lucky Ash)

People just don't realize that Pok?mon only disobey if they're TRADED, do they? That level restriction Gym Leaders say in the games only say it applies to all so you don't decide to overlevel and plow right through the game. o_O It only affects the traded Pok?mon, despite what they say. And games =/= anime.

I'd say after 60 but before 80, because in Pokemon Gold & Silver, Ash (known in the game as Red) had a Lv. 81 Pikachu. Since it takes place three years after Ash defeated Giovanni, it could be more or less than what it is in Hoenn (of course, I myself believe the anime is canon).

****it, am I gonna have to say this again? Red =/= Satoshi. They're NOT the same character. Red came BEFORE Satoshi did.

I tink Ash's Pikachu iz lvl. 81... coz in da manga dere's tis guy red... hu wuz suppose 2 b ash(if i'm nt wrong..) n his pikachu iz lvl. 81... so i guess dere shouldn't be much difference...
