    In the Third Generation, Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire were released in the USA in 2003. 1 year later, Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green were introduced. Then Pokemon Emerald came.

    In the Fourth Generation, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, which were released in 2007 (USA), were introduced. 2 years later, Pokemon Platinum was introduced. After that, Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver came out.

    In the Fifth Generation, Pokemon Black and White have been confirmed, and will be released in the USA in 2011. According to this pattern, Pokemon Gray may be released after that. Pokemon Dry Ruby and Wet Sapphire may be the next game to be of an earlier generation. I figured out the pattern.

    4 - 2
    5 - 3 - 1

    Who knows, there could be an extension to Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green in the Fifth generation of Pokemon!
     
    i honestly hope they take their time on s/r/e remake, fine tune their promised 3D a little bit, make it awesome...

    ps pkmon grey? kinda bad name... pokemon chrome sounds better! although technically metal, it would be awesome.
    on the other hand, maybe pokemon transparent/air/glass...

    i hope not. not because i think they would ruin the remakes, which i don't, but because it'd be an overkill of pokemon games which are already so similar to each other
     
    You see, the thing is, Nintendo likes money. Thus, were gonna continue to get pokemon games, and there remakes until the end of time/Nintendo goes out of buisness. Whatever comes first.
     
    well im PRETTY SURE that ruby and saphire will be remake in the next 2 years ^_^ well i thought names like "sun ruby" and "moon saphire" would be awesome XD

    Yes, but those names would also be context incorrect.
    Whilst the previously mention dryruby and wetsapphire are just too bland.

    If they do remake the third gen, which is highly likely due to all the nostalgiagasms had by the 2nd Gen remakes, I'm sure they'll come up with some names a little more creative and fitting to the concept of each legendary for that game.

    Something along the lines of "RubyVolcano" and "SapphireSea" don't sound quite much better than what was already suggested but they're certainly more context correct.

    "RubyDrought / DroughtRuby" and SapphireTorrent / TorrentSapphire" would also be quite good and context sensitive to the concepts of the legendaries they are named after.

    I would like DroughtRuby and DownpourSapphire better. Although I wouldn't mind VocanoRuby and DeepSeaSapphire.
