What operating system do you use??

This is my first PC ever. I also used my dad's laptops that he got from work. But then they got made that I had games and stuff so they forced him to buy me a computer. I have Windows XP Home Edition. To many security flaws. I've only had it for two years and I may have crashed (causing me to restart from scratch) like 7 times already. My Norton is to helpful either, "You are infected with so and so virus. This notification does not mean your computer is infected. It just means your have the virus." I keep getting dormant Trojans and junk.

Lightning - Maybe you have a virus?
 
Nope. @_@ We run the anti-virus thing once every two days or so, and it never comes up with anything. Although, it did catch a virus randomly today. oo; That was kinda scary. My mom asked me to bring something to the fridge in the basement and as soon as I left the room, the screen started screeching (it does that when you restart & stays for the duration of booting up and only stops if you turn off the screen). Apparently I'd gotten a virus even though I was just browsing PC and working in Photoshop. o_O; It was really weird, but my dad dealt with it. :\
 
my first comp was dos. no windows. now i have a 95 and 2 98SE's running. then theres my pocket pc running windowsCE(business edition 2000) and then theres my laptop(that im on) that has XP
 
Longhorn isn?t worth wasting a machine to download at the moment. It?s buggy, not like you?re going to get work done, etc. @_@; I?d at least wait until it?s in beta so it doesn?t restart like Lightning?s computer does. >>

You can easily get program to emulate the Longhorn bar and style if that?s of interest. But then again you're doing the SP 2 beta, so I guess you like the edge.
 
no i dont like the bar... i just like testing... it can be a hacking challenge for me when i get it running on my other machine...

O____o That's like, very outdated, Jess. But the computers at my school have more age. My operating system? Windows XP Professional. Works for me.
 
I use Windows XP Home editon. Don't use NT verison it's not very good :p : p
 
Ironically XP is based on the NT core, so it must be somewhat good. =p I find the 9x cores to be much worse in general. x.o
