what Pokemon did you teach 'fly' to? why?

Fearow, Duh.

-Charlie Sheen

No, really! My Diamond's Fearow, Jakko, is my fly guy.

I usually use the first flyer I caught and don't use (which is pretty much all flying type...). My pidove is my fly slave in Black.

Kanto: A Charmeleon who's going to be a Charizard [Blue Monotype]
Johto: Skarmory, Pidgeot
Hoenn: Pelipper [HM SLAVE]
Sinnoh: Honchkrow, Staraptor, Noctowl, Crobat
Unova: Braviary

For the most part, I use the regional Bird for my flyer. First and Second generation it was Pidgeot (Except for Soul Silver in which instead of Pidgeot it was Aerodactyl), third generation it was Swellow, fourth it was Staraptor, and fifth was Pidove. There have been some instances in which I didn't have the HM Move fly on my team, usually because there was a flying move on my flying Pokemon that I wanted instead of fly (Togekiss it was Air Slash. Swanna it was Hurricane). In those cases, I would just pick up a Pokemon that had the move fly from my PC and use them to fly to said place. It's not too much trouble, in my opinion.

Usually the main bird I use to battle with, which tends to either be Farfetch'd, Fearow or Skarmory. On my SoulSilver game Xatu actually has it.
I try to integrate HMs with monsters in my team as their 'light attack' each.

I taught fly to Pidgey, because it's my favourite, and it's fun to fly on a small pigeon.

My Rayquaza. Have never took it ff except when moving him to the next generation and then put it right back on. Its a strong move and becuase I almost never take Rayquaza out of my party its handy. Plus it takes care of Marshel when e4 training pokemon.

Honestly, I believe that Fly is one of the strongest HM moves available. The other being Surf; and Strength in PMD series.

I usually catch the first flying type I see in the games, like Pidgey and Starly. So I teach it to them.

well throughout the game skarmory.
but once i have everything set.
i use a dragonite as a HM Slave. (fly/surf/HM/HM) depending on what i need.

i might use mew for that instead now though.
