    This is for both the Virtual Console and original versions! Please only share stories of shinies you have encountered!

    Did you catch any Shinies in the original Silver/Gold/Crystal or the VC re-releases?
    Aside from the classic Red Gyarados, I caught a Shiny Hoothoot in Crystal. I had no idea what a Shiny was but the Hoothoot was golden and had stars so I caught it. Became an important part of my team by being a Noctowl-spamming Hypnosis/Dream Eater.

    The first and only time I caught a shiny in Silver was my shiny Raticate earlier this year. Completely random, while training my Pokémon for the League. It remained untouched in my PC as my team was already complete, but I'm sad I can't migrate it up. :(
     
    Over the course of multiple files, I've caught two shiny Zubat (one on Gold, one on Crystal), as well as a shiny Nidoran male at full odds. I also recall hatching a shiny Igglybuff from my Crystal Odd Egg, and I also remember hatching a shiny Elekid that I couldn't even tell was shiny until I saw the sparkles when sending it into battle. Of course, I also used the red Gyarados in multiple playthroughs of the originals.

    Time will tell when it comes to the VC rereleases. :)
     
    I found a shiny Ekans on my French Silver, actually! It was pretty funny how it happened, too. It was during the time the Stadium Arcadium challenge was going on and one of the things that could score you points was finding a random shiny and I was playing Silver to try to get points doing other things like getting gym badges. And I was even like "wouldn't it be funny if I actually found a shiny lol" and sure enough just a few minutes after I said that, I found one! That tends to be how most of my shinies happen, lol. Me saying "lol what if" and then there they are.

    Other than that though, I haven't found any others in gen II games.

    Discounting the obligatory Gyarados, I've only ever caught two shinies in all the time I've played Silver. Hopefully, that will change when I play Silver on VC!

    The first was a Raticate I found in Route 38. Sadly, the internal battery died a few years after this. RIP shiny Raticate, and all my other Pokemon. :(

    The second was a Tangela. I was doing a Nuzlocke challenge, and I was grinding my Pokemon to 70 so we could take on Ho-Oh. While grinding, I found the Tangela. Since Tangela was one of those Pokemon that could flee in battle, I had no choice but to use my Master Ball on it.
     
    I caught a Shiny Tentacool! I nicknamed it Shine. I think it's sitting in a Stadium box right now. It's the only Shiny I've ever caught in Gen 2, not including the Shiny Gyarados.
     
    I caught an shiny Eevee(actully Bill have me it) in the original Silver and an shiny Kanuna.
     
    I just now ran into a shiny Pidgey in Gold. But it was before I did the first quest for Elm, so I had zero Pokeballs. Sucks.
