4th Gen What Starter Did You Choose?

Well I just wanted to know which is the best starter to choose because im getting the English version(I had Japanese) and I was wandering which is the best method

Chimchar is a good starter as he can get past the first few gyms quite easily (Well the first one depends if you evolved him or not :P)

Torterra makes a good tank pokemon, that can beat most if not all gyms, except of course Candice and her Ice powers making Torterra cry

I personally chose Empoleon (Piplup) due to the insane amount of resistances he has, plus with the moveset I gave him, he can sweep rather effectively (in game, competitive is another story)

I personally chose Piplup the first time round, but Chimchar is pretty decent to use (which I did the second time). All of them are pretty good, with their own strengths.

I went for Turtwig, because of Torterra's tankalishousness (?)
Because of his tankness. There. Thats better.

I wen for Piplup. Eventually got them all though.

I chose piplup but i used him for a HM pig, i dont use starters as pokemon really they all suck IMO.

My fiance got Piplup, and a friend of ours got Chimchar. So, I got Turtwig, just so we'd have them all. Then we rotated them all, breeding them with Ditto, and then got the originals back. So now we have all of them.

I had to go with Piplup. Look at his penguiness! He is so cute. And my Empoleon is badass!

Here is a badass movset for Empoleons:-

HydroPump
Surf
Waterfall
Drill Peck

I think that is good, with the trump card of Drill Peck which sorts out grass pokemon.

3x water moves = bad, stick with 1 and go with another move type if you are using it for online battles

My Empoleon is kickass in all battles. He only dies when he is attacked by a fully EV tarained LV.100 or when he is already worn out by a strong pokemon. Or loads of pokemon.

Ice Beam
Grass Knot
Flash Cannon (eh it's in game)

That is my Empoleon's moveset, and it got me to 30 straight wins in the battle tower (then i switched to my EV trained pokes for the rest of it)

I chose all three. I started Pearl, chose a starter, traded it to my friend, then restarted. I was able to get all three starters this way. :D

well for the 15,000 time I chose piplup because I liked its final evolution

I went with piplup.... yea.. his resistances.. the fact he takes neutral damage to grass..... man.. if used right.. he was the true tank.. I mean.. when I took on Palkia.. Palkia couldn't even handle my Empoleon.

each of these starters was very well rounded and each could take eachother on.. and I liked that feature in this game...

if I had to go round 2.. I'd go with Chimchar since fire and fighting do come in handy throughout the game.

I choose the monkey Chimchar mainly because well it looked the best out of a bird and I don't know what to call turtwig a turtle?

Well, I chose Turtwig. First I wanted to take Piplup, but someone told me Turtwig is the best starter so I decided to choose it^^
And now I think it´s really the best of the 3, because it helped me most from the starters with the Pokemon League.
AND: It´s sooo cute xD

Also Infernape is a great competitive battler with some great egg move T-Punch/F-Punch anyone?Also with the Move set Mixape,Physical/Special Attacker
